WOYWW... A Passport to...

...America... I know, I said, I promised... nay and thrice, I solemnly promised not to waffle on about my soon to happen trip to the US of A... but I have had two days of not really mentioning it a very lot... and... I am a little bit ...ahem... over excited because... last night I booked my flights!! So, it is official... I am jetting off to the Land of Ranger U. Well, I had to put the passport on the desk because I had a minor paddy (for that read full blown hissy fit lol) last night ... I couldn't find it!!! I said to Grim the other day ... where is my passport.. he said in there... so I went in there to find it and ...erm... couldn't. So, I had to fill in a special questionaire jobby so I can get into the USA ... and it needs the passport number... so, frantic searching and muchly blue language issued forth... until I sat down to try and rest my poor frazzled brain... and it came to me in a flash... It wasn't "in there"... no... I had put it "over there"... so, panic over... it is now on my desk and I plan to keep it safely until the end of the month...

Phew!!! So... I am more or less sorted now... I just need to lose about 3 tonnes in weight and grow my nails and I will be ready... do you know any quick fixes for losing 3 tonnes? If you do, please share... I need help... lots of it... otherwise I will be having to book another seat on the plane for my fat bum and big...erm... you know what's ... rofl

Right... enough of Ranger U... did I mention I am going there? Soon? Did I? Oh... I am sure I did once or twice lol Anyways... over on the Artistic Stamper Creative Team blog today is a little giveaway for you ... it is an ATC that I made specially to give away... made from lots of lushly goodies.. all the deets for the giveaway are HERE... all you need to do is leave a comment over there for me... oh and... if you leave a comment for me on this post too... I will add your name in .. .so both blogs commented on... two times into the hat. The draw will be on Tues 12th April '11 Oh and this is a sneaky peek at it...

Oh and... doh, how forgetful of me... why am I showing you pics of my desk? Well, that be because today is Wednesday which means that it is WOYWW time again... all the deets etc are on our esteemed and highly regarded leader's blog... her name is Julia and she is the Head Desk Hopper of the Blogasphere... hop on over to see her HERE! Thanks for looking... have a very goodly day!! TTFN

Hels - isnt there just the tiniest incy winciest problem with leaving that passport to paradise on your crafting desk - I dont think they will let you in once you have altered it with a few grungepaper roses, some spinners, a few stamps of your own and a little glimmer mist you know. Those border guards at US airports arent at all understanding about the need to alter everyday items... LOL - happy WOYWW

I don't think you should stress yourself just prior to a visit with your American Idol, but you might consider upping your cardio so that your heart is in shape for all of that pitter patting its gonna be doing! Hope you enjoy your visit!

Hey Hels! You go on about your trip as much as you like as I know I sure as Hels would! You deserve it. Now try not to get any DI on your passport - those American Passport officiados would not appreciate how pretty it looks!! LOL and Happy Hump Day!!

The only suggestion for loosing weight from here would have to be become pregnant with twins cos in the last 8 weeks my daughter has lost over a stone but I guess that's not what you would be wanting to hear :-)
I was hoping to have seen the passport pic at the very least hehehe

Oh over there....and now sitting on top of your clean and tidy desk. mazing. I'm so paranoid about forgetting the keys to the holiday house that I've already put them in my handbag...not going till June!!
Don't go getting ink on the passport!

I would definitely have fears for the state of your passport, leaving it on your workdesk, Hels. However, at least you know where it is now. Fabulous ATC, great details, I love the butterflies. Who can blame you being so excited about the trip to America. Just practise being excited, and jump up and down shouting hurray every day, it will help with the weight loss, or drive Grim mad! I've made room for the gorgeous ATC and await it's arrival!!! 'peg leg' lost 2.5 st by not eating and drinking very much other than fresh fruit, baked potatoes and drinking flavoured water. If you could manage that you would lose weight though I think you are just right how you are.

Looking yummy, as ever :) Love the grungy rose. Have fun in the states - be sure to pack light, do laundry, and have an extra bag in the bottom of your suitcase for goodies - no alcohol ink, they may seize it at the gate (I speak from experience :))

Good to hear that you found your passport - reminds me of the time I was heading off to the Big Apple and discovered - the day before the off - that my passport was out of date! About 3 years out of date!!!
Thankfully I was able to get a new one that day, but boy was it a panic!

Lovely to see your desk!

depends when your flight is.

how much time have you got.

no more food,...... only apples and carrots and all the weight will drop off.

tim wont mind anyway, he won't know what your real size should be.

don't tell him.

are you worried the plane won't get airborne.

should not worry just have fun.

glad you found your pass port though.

didn't the worry help you shed a few pounds.

p.s. don't go losing a bunch of weight or you will have to buy new clothes! Wouldn't you rather buy new stamps? Besides you are perfect as you are!

have fun, as chief loser of passports I understand the language and the panic..

when we flew via Doha (picture camels, desert evening meal in a bedouin tent- romantic morning sunrise over the dunes before flying on to cape town) I only checked the day before to find we needed visas and they take months to process - you can apply on arrival at the airport (queue the size of a small towns populace)

sooo that was a fun time spent stuck in the airport (storage container) ... I am not in charge of passports or visas anymore...I slump into chairs in airports and sulk until someone tells me to move and where to move to...

oh you lucky girl! i am so happy for you and can't wait to hear all about the trip and the classes. you will have such a good time.
i would love to go to ranger u but don't teach or anything to qualify so will have to live vicariously through you. and i know that will be fun too.
maybe you should make yourself a passport holder that you could grunge up.

MaggieC (Silvercrafter) said...

Whatever you do, do not show too much excitement to the border guards at the airport, otherwise they might get the idea that you want to stay, and then they won't let you in - disaster!! If you find that diet, please can I have it too ready to go to Spain in August. Have a wonderful time and tell us all about it, second by second when you get back.

oh how excited must you be, I would be fit to burst, which would be quite a handy way to lose some extra tonnage LOL
hope to see you on Sundayat ally Pally, I will be the one who acts like I know you, the wierdo in other words x

Hels, knowing what you are like with the inks and sprays and such like I would say your desk - albeit at the moment a very clean and tidy desk - is the last place you should be keeping it!! Think about it... how many t-shirts, tops, and jeans have you managed to ruin with gorgeous glittery sprays etc? An altered passport is not viewed in the same light as an altered book!!
I'm not allowed to have the passports and tickets anymore... since the time we were going on vacation back to the UK and got to jo'burg airport and we were missing DS's ticket... had to buy another one at the airport and DH was not amused... bang went the spending money for the holiday!! I found it in the back of the dresser drawer when we got home and put a claim in for it - minus all sorts of fees and handling charges... so I don't get my paws on them anymore.... ;)

I'm just always amazed at your flowers. I try and try and mine never look like that. Perhaps I should get the stamp set you use, 'eh?

craftimamma said...

Leaving your passport on your desk has given me the idea of altering mine and hubby's old ones. I could never bear to throw them away because a couple of them have some nice stamps from a few faraway places.

I and my three crafting buddies will be meeting up for a day at AP on Saturday and I will probably head for The Artistic Stamper stand from the word go .......... before you have chance to sell out of the things at the top of my shopping list. I'll be sure to say hello if you are not surrounded!

Love the glimpse of your tag Hels so off to check it out now. I'd love to have that in my inspiration box

See you Saturday!

Hugs

PS. Thanks for the Monsoon suggestion for the Wedding outfit. I managed to get just what I was looking for from a gorgeous shop in Stockport on Monday, including all the accessories. Cost me an arm and a leg though which might curb my spending on Saturday a bit. Then again maybe not, lol!

OMG, the hat is awesomely fabulous!! I shall definitely say hello to you at Ally Pally & not be too shy as I was when I saw you at the ArtsyCrafts event. And I'm going to beat around the bush here; I WANT that gorgeous ATC!! PS Try not to get too much glitter or anything else on your passport, I don't think the lovely (HAA!) folk at US Immigration would be too impressed.
