...ooohoooo, you know me, always loving a good challenge to get the old Mojo working hard... well, the Everything Wendy Vecchi Yahoo group has been going strong for a while now and Lori, the list Mum, has been devising a brand new challenge for us all... based on the books of THE Wendy Vecchi, each challenge will direct us to the page for the theme and then give us teh instructions on what to use and include... so, the first challenge was to make an ATC and include a scallop and a butterfly on the design.
Well, I do like a nice ATC ... and I do like a nice excuse to get my Studio 490 stamps out... so that is what I did! I wish I could take the credit for the Idea-ology lock on the butterfly.. .but... yep, tis the idea of the ever so clever Mrs Vecchi herself... I wish I knew where those ideas came from because I could just see myself lurking about, you know, standing behind a tree or something, waiting for Wendy to arrive so I could go and stand next to her and see if the idea-thingywotsit would let me have some new ones too LOL *Oh dear, I really am sounding deranged!!! Actually, that is quite normal, well, it is stooopid o'clock in the morning after all.. sleep deprived and all that... well, that is my excuse and I am sticking to it!!* Anyways... all the deets about how I made the ATC and what I used are on The Stamp Attic blog, where, if you fancy a little trip over on the wings of a Grungepaper butterfly CLICK HERE and you will be whizzed away pronto!
So... I was nipping up to the Post Office yesterday afternoon and I went to put my shoes on, put one foot into a shoe and pulled it straight back out... eeewwwwww... what had my foot just touched? It felt... springy and soft and... erm... a bit cold and strange. Of course, because I am a girl, I had to shriek very loudly and I was cringing when I picked up said shoe and tipped it upside down... dreading what I was about to see... well, I fell about laughing when I saw a black foamy stamp... and said black foamy stamp had ... teeth marks in it!!! Yes, it is the return of Alfie the KleptoKat! The stamp in question is a foam die cut from an Alterations die that Ellen cut for me yonks ago and it has been sitting on my desk all this time... and AlfieCat must have decided that it was his new toy! Why he had to put it into my shoe is beyond me though... I do have to wonder if he actually thinks "aha, I will put this into my Mummy's shoe and when she puts her foot in it next time, she will shriek like a banshee" Mmm, that is very probably what he was thinking LOL Anyways... time for bed... thanks for looking... have a grand day! Blimey what a time to be posting! Poor girl, not sleeping. I love your piece it is just beautiful and I agree a very clever butterfly. From now on I am going to shake my shoes out before I put my feet in, just in case the next doors cat has called by!
Another beautiful peice of art....where do all those wonderful ideas come from.....it's Alfie cat isn't it?? lol xxx
Your ATC is just lovely (I love anything Wendy Vecchi inspired)! Your AlfieCat story is priceless - have you ever thought of writing a book about your Alfie adventures? You have such a gift for not only art, but also for humorous writing! There are millions of cat-loving potential readers that would find these "AlfieCat-Tales" a wonderful read... think about it! Off I go to follow a couple of your blog links....
Love your atc, Hels!!!!
Amazing ATC and amazing Alfie. I just love both.
