WOYWW... AND... 900...

...no, not my age... today I am making my... 900th post here on Ink On My Fingers!!! Now that is one serious amount of waffle, although, admittedly, I didn't waffle so much in the early days... I am making up for it now though LOL So... WOYWW... devised and hosted by the inimitable Mrs Julia Dunnit - aka Inspector in Chief of Weekly Deskly Inspections... if you haven't the foggiest what I am on about... CLICK HERE and be transported, as if by magic, to Julia's blog, which is where everyone congregates and pops their links onto Mr Linky and then off we go on a hop. Now, I need to say sorry to most peeps last week as I didn't get around to half the desks I wanted to... blame Mr Mojo is all I can say... he naffed orf for a few days jollies and came home busting with idea's and sadly, it has meant that I have been...erm... chained to my desk ;o)) I will do better this week though... promise!

So, as it is my 900th post, I thought that I would combine the WOYWW with a photo of my desk whilst it is in use... novel that eh? How come I never thought of doing that before, even though I have seen several thousand peeps do this every week!!! I thought that seeing the state of my floor and the other desk would give you a fit of the vapours, so I have sort of organised stuff on my desk to look like I am mid card construction...

Which is exactly what it is! Yes, I have my new 13-6} Art sketch book at the ready, ripe and primed with sketches just ready to be made into real life arty things. This card is a simples one.. or it was on the sketch, I just got a little carried away when I started making it... and what should have been a twenty minute make turned into an hour long make... I used papers from the Retro Grunge paper stack (by none other than the Prince of Perfect Papers), turning a normal opening card into an Easel Card (hey, I finally got the hang of these LOL) cutting out presents and stars and doodling and making a pennant and colouring in Bat Boy...

Ah.. yes, Bat Boy - my very first Stampotique rubber baby... he is sooo cute! And look at his ickle fangs!!! I have coloured him with Distress Inks and a waterbrush... now I usually use Tattered Rose for the skin tones but by accident I started colouring with Brushed Corduroy, which I had used for his boots... well, it works FAB as a skin tone... and it can be darkened down for shading, freckles and for ear hair. Yes, you read that right... ear hair.. which I think looks grand on Bat Boy. Now, sentiment wise, I only have one by Stampotique and my others are a bit too flouncy to go with the style... and my printer is out of ink... so I had a rummage and decided on a Hero Arts sentiment... which I thought was a good juxtaposition between the quirkiness of Bat Boy and the word Sparkle LOL *ooh, I just showed you a little flash of intelligence then, using that big word like that... fear not, normal blonde service will be resumed shortly ROFL* Ohhh and before I forget... you can browse a great selection of Stampotique stamps at The Stamp Attic - just click the name and you can whizz off to see them all :O))

Anyways... tis time for bed!!! I have just realised the time and I have to be up early in the morning... I have got my appt with the Orthopaedic Surgeon... the referral I have been waiting for since... erm... August. It is a new to me hospital, not seen this chap before and I do hope that he will tell me that he can do some kind of wizardry that doesn't involve ten inch needles or general anaesthetics and get me pain free... even if it is just for a few days... nay, hours... that would be better than nowt! Right... have a FAB day... see you in Blogland... don't forget to hop on over to Julia's if you fancy a nosey at other peeps' workspaces... thanks for looking... TTFN!

Hels x

Chatterbox indeed! Congrats on the 900 posts - in almost five years of blogging I've only managed 169! I must rectify that... shame on me.

Anyways, Happy WOYWW hun and that "You Sparkle" card is brilliant. Genius. Oh ok, I like it then. TTFN!

Creative and chatty every one of those 900 times! Congrats. That batboy card made me laugh. Very clever, and VERY well done.

I've got my fingers crossed that THIS time someone will be able to help you. Since it took so long to get in, it really HAS to be right. I'll be thinking about you throughout the day (yours and mine). Happy WOYWW from #7.

I’m sure someone will correct me if I’m wrong, as I haven’t read the books/seen the movies myself. But I think that in Twilight they say something about Edward the vampire “sparkling”. So your sentiment fits with the bat boy stamp perfectly, you can use this one for a Twilight fan’s birthday!

Good luck with your hospital appointment, nothing worse than pain that just won’t shift.

how my poor brain trys to keep up, when you said Bat boy was your first stampotique baby, for a moment I thought I cant beleive youve not used them before, then my eyes and brain caught up with each other, and I can even remeber offering to help store your stampotique stamps at mine, to free up some space for other things in the Room of Trash, perhaps helping it return to its rightful title room of Stash, have to go now, nurses waiting to inject me, ROFL

Wow 900th post, I've just done my first!!! I've got alot of catching up to do!!! Lol. Your posts are always so interesting and funny. I love the sparkle card and the stamp is weirdly cute. Me thinks I need to go over to artistic stamper and have a spending spree!!! Hope the hospital appointment goes well, although sometimes the first appointment can be disappointing as when your in pain and you wait a long time to see someone you hope for a answer and cure when usually you have to go for a load more things before you can get the answer you want. Ok so I'm waffling on trying to make u feel better and making you worse!!!! I'm such a waffler. Here's to crafty treatments lol. Kezzy

Great card Hels ;-)
Good luck with the appt. Pain management seems such an extremely difficult area.
Have got an entry for Ss and am just about to blog so will leave a link later :-)

Hope things went well at the hospital, pain management does seem to be a very difficult problem - pain free and you are high as a kite or doped out of existence, staying awake and functionning and you are in pain again. There must be a better way. In the meantime, lots of goodies on and around your desk again. Exciting.
