Curiously Splattered...

... I may have mentioned several (hundred) times that I love the Compendium of Curiosities Challenge... why is this I wonder? Is it because I get to do a different technique a week? Maybe. Or is it 'cos I get to use my fave Ranger and Tim Holtz products? Probably... but... the real reason is that I get to play with ink and rubber and get thoroughly messy, which is what I have just done this morning. So.. the challenge... hosted, devised and organised by the wonderfully lovely Linda... if you click on her name you can see what I am on about :O)) This week is another excuse to get out the Alcohol Inks and, in my case, get totally covered in ink (again)

I really must get dressed before I start to craft of a morning... a few weeks ago I had a minor mishap with some Metallic Mixatives (mainly, they ended up on my face and on my nighty) Well, today I had this idea what to do for my entry and instead of being organised and getting dressed first, I hit the Room of Stash still in my nighty. Big mistake... huge mistake *I love that line, Julia Roberts telling those snobby moo's in Pretty Woman* ... cos now I have a rather lovely blue stain on it, mainly because I am clumsier than an bull in a china shop and I ... erm... dropped a bottle of ink... it is such a good job that Grim bought me that floor protector for under my chair... I shudder to think how bad the carpet would be LOL

I think when Linda told us that the theme this week is Alcohol Ink Splatter, she didn't mean I should splatter my desk, nighty and *don't tell Grim* a tidge on the carpet (oooops!) Anyways, as well as re-colouring all manner of what have you, I have made a tag... week 22 of the challenge already and I have now got two book rings with tags on... I really didn't think this through before I started on the "let's make a tag a week" malarkey... Oh and... I forgot to mention before... a few weeks ago I won a prize from this challenge... and it arrived the other day! Many thanks to Linda x I so promise not to be insufferable and mention that I have a signed by Tim set of Flourish stamps LOL

Right, time to venture out into the freeeeezing cold frosty day, tis one of my fave times of year, frosty mornings and a bit of foggy mist... makes everything look so pretty... thanks for looking... have a goodly day! TTFN

Hels x

I am feeling decidely festive and wintry this morning as I have woken to over 6 inches of snow! Eeeek, will have to get dressed and put my big winter boots on to help clear the driveway so Chris can get the car out of the garage... so your snowman with the let it snow is perfect timing!! Love the colours and the mix... I don't seem to get that effect with alcohol inks on paper.... but then I also don't get your effects when I use normal inks... so nothing new there! :)

Super Christmas snowman :) Lovley colours even if half of them ended up on you! LOL
Had a fair few near misses with my beige carpet in the dining room which is one of the reasons I really must sort myself and get my stamping station returned to the cupboard in the bedroom ;)

WOW! It was definitely worth the mess because this tag is gorgeous! Love the colors and the "splatter" turned out amazing! Can't wait to see it in person.... 10 DAYS... Weeeeee!!! Hugs, Els xxx

PS - I wonder if Blending Solution would get the stain out of the carpet???

Love your snowy creation Hels and your little tale made me smile as I do things like that too when suffering from butter fingers (yes, it is a bug I think lol!)

Gorgeous Hels! I used all blues on mine as well and the same snowman stamp. Great minds! Alcohol inks can really make a mess and I don't think they come out of clothes or carpet, but I can picture you wearing it! LOL

Wow! The background came out so cool! The whole tag looks graat. Sorry to hear about your blue miss-hap: I had the same with the copper one a few weeks ago..not so much upset with the copper on the sneakers and jeans; more upset with losing almost half the bottle! LOL! With luck I get to play tomorrow night.

I had designed a similar tag last night while sleeping...looks like you took my dream idea but made it better! Now to come up with another idea so it doesn't look like I copied yours.

Oh you messy mare!! LOL But on the other hand you have created a marvelous tag and maybe, ink-splattered nighties may just be in fashion one day.

This is awesome, Hels, and I'm glad to hear no more "accidents"! lol! Love the colors you used, the stamps, well, everything, really.

I think you should take that "nightie" and add more alcohol inks - tie-dye it!

Love your tag by the way *smiles*

Hels Sheridan, you are a crafting GODDESS! This is gasp-inducingly GORGEOUS, my darling! The colors, the splatter, the fab stamping, the sweet design-- holy cats, it's perfect!

(I myself make a bull in a china shop seem almost ballerina like, so I can totally relate to your inky mishaps. A little Alcohol Ink Blending Solution can do wonders for those nasty carpet stains!)

Enjoy that autographed stamp set, sweet friend!
