Sunday Stamper - Week 123 - Puppet On A String

Goodly Morning Stampers! Thank you ALL for your FAB entries to last weeks challenge... lots of lush black projects out there :O)) As you know, the challenge last week was sponsored by The Artistic Stamper... and I have used Random.org to choose a winner.... and the number chosen was #12 = Yvonne from ARTic Blonde Creations... thank you Yvonne... please can you email me your addy and I will pop your stamps into the post for you :O)) Moving on... I have been a bit... erm... under the weather this week... well, I have had a severe case of ManFlu which I am nearly over but... it has seriously hampered my Mojo so... this week I was really stuck for a theme for the new challenge... and in stepped Colin (Mr Stamp Attic...now known as My Hero LOL) with a fantastic theme... which I have never thought of before... so the theme is... STRING. To join in, all you have to do is make a piece of art... add in the theme (string could be actual string, a string of pearls, even a string bean ROFL) and some stamping, leave a comment for me here along with a link to the place you are showing your entry and then I can hop on over for a nosey :O)) The theme will stay open until 18:00 Saturday October 9th '10

So... Mojo-less and out all day at my fab playdate *thank you to the ladies who were playing with inks with me :O))* I was a bit stuck for time to make my entry... so I did a quicky hangy piece using some mountboard cut using a Tim Holtz Alterations, coloured with Distress Inks; Mustard Seed, Spiced Marmalade, Broken China, Chipped Sapphire and Aged Mahogany. I cupped a handful of water and flicked it at the inky piece and then heat dried it for a splotchy effect.

The stamping is from the Tim Holtz Collection and I added my string wrapped around the shape and tied in a knot. I added a Grungepaper flower cut from the Tattered Florals Alterations... made a little rose using the six petal Alterations flower and then popped a Grungepaper leaf cut from the Tattered Leaves Alterations (yep... you know... that die, the one I said I didn't like and didn't want... erm... more words being eaten LOL) This was embossed with a Texture Fade and then inked with Forest Moss, Crushed Olive and Aged Mahogany DI's.

So... have you noticed... *am in a state of utter excitement....* I got... some NEW Idea-ology... yes indeedily, Wendy, Mrs Stamp Attic has the new range hanging up in her shop and I think it would have been just plain rude not to liberate some of it and bring it home to the Room of Stash to live with me... *does that sound like a reasonable excuse???* Anyways... check out the sentiment... a Tim stamp... fits perfectly behind the Facet... these are like big fat fragments... love these LOADS... and the ickle dangly pearldrop... how cooooool! And... these match in with the pearl pins I have had kicking about in my stash for like a million years... (slight exagerations there but... hey, who's counting! LOL) Anyways... this is a quicky entry from me today... I hope I will find the old Mojo and get chance to make something else this week. AND... A HUGE thank you to the lovely kind lady who left a bag full of mountboard for me at The Stamp Attic... I don't know who you are and I really would like to say a proper thank you... so if you are reading this... please can you email me :O)) Thanks for looking... have a grand day! TTFN

I love the colour palette Hels - so pretty! I was wondering what the "facet" thingy was... Although my piece is extremely grungey, I hve used distress inks a lot on it!! It's on my Blog.
