Curiously Flowery

... how can this be??? It is... Week 13 already!!! Week 13 of what??? Of... The Compendium of Curiosities Challenge, devised and hosted by that wonderfully talented and uber cool Linda... to see what it is all about, CLICK HERE... I have sorted out an elephant, complete with comfy seat on his back, to take you over the Blogasphere to see Linda's Blog :O)) *don't worry folks, I have had my medication, am just feeling a bit dafter than usual LOL*

Anyways... this week the challenge is to use another fab technique from the Duke of Distress... so, in keeping with all the other weeks, I have made a tag! I used Wild Honey, Broken China, Mustard Seed and Barn Door DI's to colour my tag - then did some stamping using the same inks... and then got stuck into making my little roses.

The little bit of Tissue Tape... is covering up a secret... I know I can tell you cos you won't tell anyone else but... I dropped my Walnut Stain pad onto the tag - you know, that mistake always happens after I have done the stamping and sorted out the layout... typical! Anyways, I was using the Walnut Stain to just add a little darker edge to the tag to kind of bring it all together... anyway...Tissue Tape... fab cover up! The little message mat is from the Regal Crest Alteration - now I didn't want this die, nope, no use for it.. never would use it and wasn't that keen on it... but as is the way with me... I see Linda use the leaves and knew I needed it.. then I see Ellen use the leaves and the banner... I needed it more than ever... so I thought I had better rectify my error... and got it LOL

I am all of a dither with excitement you know... yesterday Grim took me to Ikea. I lurve Ikea but I forgot just how gruelling it is to get around the warehouse.. it's a big old place... so we started off mooching, then I had a little sit down on a sofa, then we mooched a bit more, I had to have another sit down... kitchen chair this time... and then... I made a brilliant discovery... THE MOST comfortable office chair in the world... ok, I had to have another little sit down on that, hence, the discovery... *don't worry, I didn't need a Nanna Nap in the store though ROFL* Anyways, Grim is a total darling and got me the chair... it has a lumbar support and truly is THE MOST comfortablist chair ever... oh, I said that already LOL I got a few alterables... photoframes and mirror thingy's... and I also got a plastic floor protector... for under my new chair... cos I am notoriously clumsy *tis true!!* and am always dropping inkpads... not good on a cream carpet... so now I can sit comfy and drop stuff neatly ROFL Then we popped into HobbyCraft... Yipyah and thrice! I got some sheets of much needed mountboard and... Creative Cardmaking mag - Issue 19 no less - cos... there are a couple of little cards in there made by...moi! and a tag by Jennie too... tis typical though... I bought that mag... got home... text from Jennie, she has got me one and... tis int' post!!! Ah well, I will have two now LOL Thanks for looking... have a goodly day... TTFN

What a lovely tag. Your roses are so neat. I keep trying to follow your instructions (nothing wrong with them) but my roses always look like they've been sprayed with weed killer!!!!!!! I WILL make some florabundas one day.

YAY! - you got the Regal Crest die! I was wondering if you bought it or if you used the foam stamp and then cut it out - die is way easier... Your roses are always so gorgeous, mine never turn out that well... and IKEA? Can't go wrong... Hugs, Els xx

Super duper tag Hels! Love those rainbow colours! There's a very nice man at my local frame shop who gives me all the mountboard I need - for free! :o) x

Pretty, pretty tag! Love all those flowers and the colors you used. Tim's tape just adds visual interest. I am beginning to really embrace the mistakes I make, as they usually lead to something even better than I'd planned - and all by accident!

Hels, as always, you've gone and made a stunning work of art for the CCC! Those colors are.. WOW! They are just... WOW! Your roses are beyond perfect (yes, it's possible to be beyond perfect; you just proved it!), and the sentiment plate is lovely.

(I'm so glad to know I'm not the only one who's used Tissue Tape to cover an ink mishap!)

I love this, in case there was any doubt! :-)

I *so* wish there was an IKEA near us, but it's about 400 miles to the closest one. Sounds like you had a wonderful day, and I hope you enjoy your cozy new chair for a long time. That Grim is a good guy!

Love the tag! I miss shopping at Ikea although we do have one in the Chicago area. I love shopping forays that end up being so positive in light of what you thought would happen. Kudos on scoring a new chair - gotta be comfortable making art!

Again, a terrific project, Hels

Lovely tag! I also love IKEA - I have had 6 back surgeries so if you catch this comment and could let me know the name of the chair you bought - well I would be extremely grateful and so would my back!
Tissue Tape is the band-aid of the papercraft world....lol.

Love the flowers! I've seen these types of flowers before, but am ignorant as to how to do them. This is way past the die-cuts from the book, no fair... you move to the head of the class! Again!
