...well, I may have mentioned a couple of times that I am useless with a sewing machine... so thank heavens that I have a stitchy stamp. Over on the Lots To Do Challenge today, the new theme is Stitching. I really wish I could sew but 'cos I can't I used my Tim Holtz stitch stamp instead... and because it is unmounted, I used it without an acrylic block, when meant I could bend it along the curved edge I wanted to "stitch" Cheating I know... but I know you won't tell anyone LOL
The base is an offcut of mountboard, coloured with Wild Honey DI. I used some more of that old book - yes, I am still reading the pages as I am altering them... tis a good book and the bits that are missing I just fill in using my imagination :O)) So, I coloured the book age with Stormy Sky DI, crumpled it, spritzed it, dried it, rubbed Wild Honey over it, spritzed it, dried it and then popped it in place... and used the stitches to... erm... secure it ;o))
The flower was made using the Tattered Florals Alterations - I just cut a big wad of old book page at once and then colour the flowers with DI's - Stormy Sky, Wild Honey and Old Paper. The centre is an Idea-ology button - isn't it just perfect with that gorgeous colour in the centre??? I used the Alterations Tickets die, cut two tickets, stamped a Tim Ticket over one of them and a mini sentiment on the other, popped them into Memo Pins and then stuck the pins into the assembled flower.
I used that FAB stamp - you know the one that Tim made that actually fits under the Idea-ology Film Strip... how clever is that!!! I didn't even realise it was a perfect fit either... it is almost like he did it on purpose ROFL. All of the stamping, inkings, Alterations and embellies are from The Artistic Stamper. Anyways.. I hope that this piece is acceptable for the challenge, even if I did cheat LOL Grim is now off nights - hurrah! And... the tree chaps came back yesterday and grinded (or is it ground???) out all the stumps so we now have a massive huge task in the garden... if you know a landscape gardener who works free of charge please let me know cos I am feeling a very daunted by the amount of work that needs doing... oh how I wish I had a magic wand cos would seriously be waving it about right now LOL Thanks for looking... don't forget to check back tomorrow for the new Sunday Stamper theme... I haven't decided what it is yet... am off to make my entry now :O)) TTFN

This is just luscious Hels! This would work for LTDC as it has stitching on! xx
Lol! Just read your post properly! Doh!
This is lovely, the colours go beautifully together. I think I need to update my distress inks and stamps - do you think you could just post for a while with things that I already own lol

WOW this tag is an "eye-popper." Very striking and I am so glad to learn the technique of bending the stitch stamps to make them curve. I do sew buy my machine is broken so this will be a great fill-in. Thanks for the tip and I love the art you make! Marijane

Loving every bit of this! And the stitching looks very real. Superb!
Where would those of us challenged by needle and thread be without faux stitching stamps? Gorgeous atc, how you manage to use so many elements and never look busy or anything other than fabulous is a mystery. Thank you for sharing with us on LTD, Hilda will be back in the week and will be popping round the. xx Zoe
It's not cheating.... it's thinking creatively!
OMG this is perfect.
Stunning color combo. Absolutely amazing design hun. Love it.
I love the colours Hels, great combination. The flower is fab, and that button is gorgeous. The film strip is really cool, and the stitching is just perfect, I won't tell if you don't! Judith xx
I love all the details!!!!!!!! great colors too!
I love the color combo and the use of metal embellishments.
Loving the colours and that flower is great!
I love this Hels. Colours are gorgeous, and your flower's beautiful too, so many layers of pretty petals and I love that button centre.
I hate sewing too. I wish I could use a stamp on mending, hemming and sewing on buttons instead of that nasty jaggy sewing needle, I'm certain it knows I'm scared of it, and gets me on purpose, lol.
I stick to using the "magic tape" you iron on to do hems and stuff where possible, you know the tape I mean, and I procrastinate a lot before other sewing jobs.
This really, really, REALLY, rocks!
Love it!
Linda

Whats the name of the stamps or stamp set that the numbers strip is from, the one that fits under the filmstrip ribbons?! I must have one, it looks amazing!
xxxx
I love what you made but as a librarian I am thinking wether tearing pages out of a book is the right thing to do ( you know librarians are the protectors of books) but on the other hand if the book would go into the bin, it better be "recycled" So I think maybe it is good you use the pages!
Hugs,
Cardarian
