WOYWW... A Ditty For Julia

...Blimey! It is a whole 52 weeks since Julia first started her WOYWW travels and seeing the group of peeps joining in get bigger and bigger has been FAB ... cos it means we all get to see so many creative spaces and I for one have made friends through this strange yet utterly compelling phenomenon!

Julia suggested we all have a special piece of art for the anniversary... well, my Mojo cleared off last week and I have thrown away lots of pieces of ... for want of a better word... crap! Finally, with time running out, I grabbed a box I had used for a trial piece for a technique thingy I did for Craft Stamper (July 10 Issue) and added a few things to it

Then, I tried my hand at Journalling, I mean, I see some amazing pieces on my travels round BlogLand and I thought I would be able to do it... WRONG! So, third time lucky, this piece didn't get as far as the bin, simply cos I liked the background. I composed a little ditty for Julia... if you click the pic large you will see what the words say... a poet I certainly am not ROFL but the sentiment is there :O))

And... you will never believe this... Grim has gone on record and said, in public, in front of lots of peoples that... I don't have enough stash!!! It is TRUE!!! Click HERE and you will see his comment... *actually, he didn't say that I haven't got enough stash - not word for word like, but you can read between the lines and see what I mean though... can't you???* Go on, have a look, it is true, he actually intimated that I need to go out and buy more stamps and stash and stuff... whatcha fink??? Am I imagining it, or is that what he meant??? ROFL

So, I now have lots of shelves, *what a guy my Grim is - he still hasn't got his own room sorted out and yet he has put up all of these shelves for me... I have to add, a few peeps have asked if they can borrow him... sorry, the answer to that is... no... I might need him to put some more shelves up for me yet ROFL* All my wooden stamps are sitting there and all my baskets of UM stamps are sitting there... you may notice that there is a lack of Mr Holtz and Mrs Vecchi's UM stamps... that is cos they are nearest to me, the 490 stamps are actually on the shelves under my desktop and the Tim stamps are right next to my desk, so I don't even have to stretch to reach them! Forward planning there .. which is a surprise for me cos usually I just plonk stuff whereever and end up forever having to either reach, stretch, dislocate a shoulder just so I don't have to get off my backside...you get the jist, I am sure LOL

Cor, this is a long post... today the Gingersnaps have a new challenge - the theme is WINGS. Here is a little card I made using some Distress Inks and the Butterflies & Bugs plate from The Artistic Stamper... masking, stamping, masking, adding layers... click HERE to be whizzed off to see the gorgoeus Wings art that the DT have done :O))

Well, that is enough of my wafflings for one day... THANK YOU Julia for starting the WOYWW thing, it is great, I love it and whilst I never get around to absolutely everyone, I do try to visit as many peeps as possible and I truly appreciate everyone who visits me... have a goodly day... TTFN

I'm in total awe of your stamp collection. Those new shelves are perfect and within easy reach. Hope this means you are feeling better.

I really enjoyed the tribute to Julia. You are right, we do follow her around each week. You really captured the essence of WOYWW in your "poem." Love your WOYWWAC box, too! Happy WOYWW.

lovely jubbly Hels. Enjoyed seeing your work in the Craft Stamper. Sadly I think you are reading too much between the lines. But knowing how generous your Grim is,(having put up such beautiful shelves)he would not mind at all if you bought more stash(after all what else would he want to be, doing if he wasn't putting up shelves). x

A girl can't have too many stamps. Love the card and the cute box and your journaling is a WOW. Your workspace is soooooooooo tidy and organised I don't believe you have to search.

So love your little box Hels and your ditty too. I think Grim is asking you to test out the weight bearing capacity of your shelves so that must mean you have to buy more stash to put on them!!

Hels!! Your pieces for WOYWW are amazing! I think Julia should use your journal/poetry piece for her logo!!!!
So what's the formula for the shelves... let's see, if you take the recommended weight bearing of the shelves and divide that by the approx. weight of each stamp that equals...shopping!!

lol at Grim's comment, I can't see any other way to interpret it! you artwork is lovely, and I think your journalling is great too, something I still haven't tried. Thank you for your lovely comment on my fairy cake card, you will never regret buying moon girl, she is one of the most versatile stamps in my whole collection, you will spend hours thinking up new places for her to sit.

and someone once asked me How many stamps DO you own? .. there is only one answer... not enough!!

Hi Hels - Oh yes, he DEFINITELY meant that you NEED more stamps - you wouldn't want him to feel that all his efforts to put up those shelves was not appreciated, right??? :) I just started a blog of my own and I'd love for you to check it out, since you've been so inspirational to me (give Wendy V credit - she steered me to YOU!) (Oh, and I really like comments too!!) :)

Ok let me go through the post: lovely poem on the lovely journal! Like the box....you must go into politics if you managed to turn Grims words into him wanting you to buy more stash (which I think you always need ) but I must admit I have NOT yet seen such an amazing collection of stamps! And to wrap it up your thing with wings is lovely!
Hugs,
Cardarian
