Splooshiness Studio 490 Stylee...

... The more observant of you (and no, that doesn't mean you Jennie ROFLMAO) will have spotted a few tags ready to be stamped onto on my desk yesterday. I got out my favest stamps in the whole widest world ever... yes, it was time to play Studio 490 stylee :O)) I do try to limit myself to only using them once a day but today I got totally carried away and made some more stuff using them too... which will be seen on a blog near you very soonly :O))

The background was created by using a dry brush and streaking some Trad Tan paint onto it to make a resist for the inks. Then I swooshed some Distress Ink pads onto my craft sheet, spritzed with water and then swooshed the tag into the inkyness... drying inbetween swooshings ensures that you can get a really fab coloured background. I then used a babywipe to remove the ink that was sitting on the paint... stamped a 490 background stamp, again removing the DI from the paint... and then set about making a flower. I had some Cogs cut out of Grungepaper - using the new Alterations Die - and incorporated one of them into the flower... then made a centre for the flower using Idea-ology. I added on some ribbon and a cutesy little metal tassle that was in a goody bag that Annette very kindly sent to me... Finally, I added the sentiment... I mean what a fab sentiment it is... how can I not be inspired by the incredibly talented Wendy Vecchi???

Yesterday was "one of those days"... the guys who are supposed to be sorting out all the trees in the garden didn't turn up... but cos we thought they were coming first thing, we kept AlfieCat in - did I mention the little monkey lost his collar the other day??? Well, he now has a new one...with a swizzy new blue tag on it... so, after finding out the guys wouldn't be there til today, we let AlfieCat out to play... big mistake... huge mistake... because... he is up to his new predetory antics and arrived in the dining room with a mouse in his chops. Stooopid oopid here managed to grab him and he dropped Mickey, who scuttled off under the furniture... and we had to take a bookcase down in an attempt to find it - but didn't!!! By this time, AlfieCat had got bored and gone off again, probably to get another mousey... when he finally tipped up at tea-time he found the mouse that was still in the house... and yep, poor Mickey is no more! Thing is, I can't tell Alf off 'cos since he was a kitten he has been chasing toy mices and I guess it is what cats do... anyways... he is staying in tomorrow... I don't want him dragging in one of the tree guys by the scruff of the neck now do I??? Imagine trying to get one of them out from behind the bookcase LMAO! Thanks for looking.. have a goodly day...

Hels x

i am inspired. cool colors and i like the curly petals too. guess you will have to check out alfiecat's mouth before letting him in now to keep the still moving mice from finding lodging in your studio.

I swear you tell the funniest stories and have the greatest art to go with it.

I wanted to let you know that I'm pretty sure even my studio pictures can't make YOU speechless (grin) and I would be honored if you actually did borrow my clothes line design for your room. After all, imitation is the greatest for of flattery!

Fabulous tag Hels and your story about Alfie made me laugh. Last year my mog did exactly the same - mouse at back of bookcase, 30 mins to emptly bookcase, mouse moves from bookcase to back of gas fire... Eventually the mouse comes out into the mouth of waiting fat cat who now looks at the fire like its a kitty vending machine lol x

Love what you've done with the tag from yesterday Hels.

Thanks for the story about Alfie cat. It made me chuckle but reminded me of this weeks yuck moment here. My little dog, Snoopy, hates birds in the garden and they usually taunt him from the top of our very high fence but we had a 'stoopid' starling the other day that was taking a bath in the water feature and who left it just a fraction too long to fly off! Yup, Snoopy got 'im but at least the end was quick. One terrier shake and that was it!!!

Could you train Alfie to just drag the good looking tree cutters through the cat flap? He would have to leave the fat ones outside anyway! Glad Alfie now has a nice blue collar.
Inspiring tag, I do like a big of music in my art!

Wonderful tag hun, adore the colours you've used :-)
Yes ike it or not that is what cats do :-/ I once came home to find feathers all over the hall and a dead bird down the toilet! The cat (can't remember which one it was now) must have hooked it with his paw and it landed in the loo :-O And another cat we had, who wasn't very big, once brought a huge fish home that was nearly as big as himself - must have been out of someone's pond! I wouldn't mind but he only took one bite out of it!

Hi Hels - enjoying your blog as usual this week .. your mouse tale (or should that be tail!) reminds me of the day in my old house where I opened a kitchen drawer to find a little brown field mouse staring up at - don't know who was more shocked - me or him ! Anyway here's my Sunday Stamper Metal entry for this week !
