Barefoot...In The Sand...

Actually, it is Go Barefoot Day today, did you know that? Well, the Gingersnap Creations always have a Reasons To Stamp each month, like we need any excuse LOL Anyways, I have made a tag for this occasion... did you know... I HATE sand??? Despise the stuff, it gets into places it shouldn't and I cannot stand the feeling of it on my toes... drives me insane!! Cos I loooove this little Art Journey stamp so much, I thought he was just perfect for the occasion.

I used a dry brush and a dab of Trad Tan paint, swishing it across the lower part of the tag, then colouring with Scattered Straw DI to make the sand. I then popped the little fella onto the tag with some StaZon and blended Broken China into the top half of the tag for the sky. The sun is made from another stamp on the same sheet - and I coloured with a ProMarker. The sentiment is stamped with StudioG alpha's and then I just stamped the scribble from the same set over to make some patterny bits. The little shells are from an old junk bag... I think they were once on a necklace cos they have little holes in them... bet you thought I had been collecting them myself.. not on your nellie.. no beaches for me ROFL So, it is now June.. which means... de-de-deeeeeeeerrrrrr... only another few days til I am officially allowed to go bonkers and be mad and do daft things cos of my mid life crisis... actually, I am getting a bit excited... June is a goodly month indeed :O)) Thanks for looking and have a brill day... TTFN

Sweet tag Hels. You don't like the sand and surf? how about sea food? LOL, yum yum. When I was growing up we loved near the ocean and I miss it so much. Nothing like the smell of salty air.

This is gorgeous, Hels, so original. My SIL made me some candles with shells set into them, in little metal pails. I have been deliberately burning them down so I can get to the shells and decorate the little pails!

P.S. So no 3 S's when you go on hols then?!

Well seeing as I'm sitting here barefoot!! I'm right on trend for once!! I love the sand between my toes, just as well seeing as I'm surrounded by the most beautiful sandy beaches. Wonderful tag Hels xx

How are your new shelves holding up under the extreme weight of your stamps? Silly question really as they take 25kg each and even all your stash doesn't weigh that much!!!

Oh you have one of those bags full of broken bits and piece you can't through away too? Are all us crafters like that?! LOL!

Just love this tag, I want to go and get some sun now! Kim

There everyone.. it is from the horses mouth... I don't have enough stamps!!! Cos if I did, then the shelves would collapse... aha, a stash spending spree for me, methinks ROFL

Well, I say, if he built the shelves for that much weight he pretty much implied/expected them to be filled, right??? ;) He was just plannin' ahead...........
