WOYWW - Guess How Many Boxes....

... I have unpacked??? Remember the past couple of weeks I have been a right lazy cow and done naff all in my new room? Well, for fear of being told off by all those lovely *but ever so slightly bonkers* followers of Julia, the esteemed leader of the WOYWW crew... yesterday... I unpacked... *pauses for dramatic effect* 23 boxes!!!!! Yes folks, my room now looks more like a room and less like box hell :O)) I am paying for it bigstylee today, my back is cracked.. but it is worth it :O))

I have taken a couple of piccies as it is at the mo - I have a couple of boxes in here that belong to Grim, a couple that belong to Christmas so will go into the loft once it is boarded (tomorrow...yipyah!) and then a couple more that can't be unpacked cos it is stuff for shelves... and I am waiting on the shelves being put up. Now, dilemma time. Do I tiptoe into the garage, snaffle Grim's drill and get it upstairs and try myself... OR... do I exercise a little patience and wait for Grim to do them on Friday? I realllllly want to have all my shelves up cos I reallly want my room to be finished... BUT, I know, I truly know, that if I attempt to put a shelf up, it will either be down within a second or will be all wonky and nothing will stay on it. Notice that there is a tin of polish in my room...sitting next to a duster. Now, please don't worry, I haven't gone over to the dark side and started doing the H word... no, I used this yesterday just to wipe over the desks and the photo's and stuff. Also, as a precauation, there is a First Aid kit...knowing how dangerous and clumsy I can be, I thought it would be a good idea to have one of these to hand ROFL

On the computer desk - how cool, I have a computer desk!!! there are all my Craft Stamper mags, my Somerset Studio mags and some books. My ProMarkers now live here too - as do a couple of photo's - one is of my Gran, bless her, she was a darling and this pic was taken when she was probably my age - there is also a pic of Grim - taken on his birthday when we were on holidays in Skiathos, he looks so happy in it, tis one of my faves ... and also to go on to this desk is the printer... *does a happy dance* I am having the printer in my room... so that means I can just print something off and not have to walk a hundred miles downstairs to get it! And... under the desk..well, you can't see that yet cos I just stuffed it all under there and it needs sorting LOL

Anyways...enough babbling from me - can you tell I am excited by my new room??? I cannot wait for it all to be finished so I can come and play properly - I am so missing playing and making art, you wouldn't believe! Oh and I almost forgot... check out the window... in need of a swag or curtain, but the view is right onto the Spinney at the back of the house... there are a couple of big fat Wood Pigeons that sit on one of the branches and watch me watching them! Don't forget to pop on over to see Julia - I love this WOYWW lark and it is nearly a whole year since it started so there is something special going on too... which I have to join in with! TTFN - have a FAB day

Hels x

Your new room looks fab and I'm green with envy as I don't have a craft room yet as daughters still come and go, so my stuff is all over the house.
The view you have is gorgeous too. Oh, and warning about the wood pigeons-don't feed them too much or they multiply as we started with 2 and there are now 6!!!

Hi Hels

your new room is looking lovely, I would try so hard and not very patiently to wait for friday, there would be no way any shelves I put up would stay up lol, thats if I could even get the drill to make a hole in the wall lol. lovely tidy desk.

Oh man, this has to be the tidiest I have ever seen on your WOYWW - I hope you don't intend it to last! Love the new room, bet you'll be like a pig in poo once you get going! And yep, wait till Friday. Someone else to do the work, to do the measuring, cleaning up and someone to blame if it;s wrong...no contest!

Oh my giddy aunt... I expected your room to be in the same state as last week - now, I take my hat off to you and say Well Done!!! Yey - you're getting there... love the PC table...

DO NOT TOUCH the drill - if you need a first aid kit for normal crafting - you'd need a paramedic on hand if you were to attempt the shelves (and maybe a plumber, an electrician.....

Happy days - walls are begging for your art work to be added

big huggles back to you

OMG Hel's do I feel for you...
I had been taking some blog time off just to decorate and the last couple of day's been helping my friend move house, oh boy it's hard work...
I have been in my first and only house for 20 year's and never intend to move after what I have been doing the last couple of day's...
My poor arm's don't know what to do with themselves...I have taken lot's of pain killer's but at the moment still aching like mad...
I think I have either athritis in my wrist's and elbow's or repetitive strain from my working day's...
Just wished I listerned to my Mom year's ago, she alway's warned me not to overdo it...she is on morfine patch's and liquid morfine from all of her hard working day's...

Your room looks fantastic so far, I can't wait to hear more about your new outside friend's...that's going to be a talking point by the look's of it.

I hope you send me your new email detail's...I know thing's are hectic but it would be lovely to here from you again soon

Take care my friend and don't overdo it

So excited for you, Hels - the room is really shaping up! Love that beautiful window with the wonderful view... doesn't really need any curtain (my 2 cents, LOL!). But on a very serious note... after reading all about your experiences with the melt pot a few months ago.... please, you must stay away from power tools!!! It's one thing to drop hot wax on your trousers, quite another to drop an electric drill down there, ROFL! Patience, girlie.... go shopping! :)

Boxes everywhere, just think what you will be able to do with some shelves, lol! Your view is too lovely to cover up, I would go for a Roman blind, then you dont have to cover it up. Enjoy your new space, hugs Heidi xx

Oh wow, it's all coming together nicely. The First Aid kit is a good idea - from the number of times I cut my fingers, or stab them with the pokey tool, or get too close to the heat gun.
Love the "note on the wall"

Wow, great craft room, looks a bit too tidy to me but I'm sure you will soon have your creating head on soon; I remember sorting mine out, once its nice and tidy you don't want to put stuff back otherwise it look messy again! Wow what a tidy room - looks like a show house, but we all know it won't last!

How is Alfie adapting to the new house? I lost one of my little men for 3 days this week but he's back now and I've stopped wailing!

Debra said...

Wait to have the shelves put up. You don't want them falling down on you! Your room looks lovely & I must say that I love your window. Yes, the actual window! We don't have that kind of charm in California - unless of course you are planning to pay millions for it. Just plain glass. (sigh) Thanks for the peek.

Sorry I am so late with my visit ... Mr Blogger did n't want me to play yesterday so I watched Grandpa in my pocket instead ... May I recommend it ... it is on about 3pm ... what??? Well now you have unpacked you will be looking for other stuff to do! Noticed you are 40 today ... Oh yes ... Go back and visit Julia ... Mr Linky was premature ... but don't panic the cheeky B%$#@$^ has me down at 61 ... with a new haircut and everything!!!!!

Wow, well done - 23 boxes is huge. Your new room looks great, so excited for you.

Now tell me what you did about the shelves? If it were me I'd have gone ahead and done it because I'm not as patient as I'd like to be BUT I'd have stuffed them up and done it crooked I'm sure so it all would have been a waste of time. Best to wait :o)
