WOYWW - Erm...Remember When I Said....

...last week...that by the next WOYWW I would have my new room sorted and unpacked and organised? Well, erm... I haven't!!! Now, for all followers of the wonderful Julia and her WOYWW tribe, you may remember that the past few weeks have been a bit .. how can I put it, erm... boxey for me! Well, they are still blinking boxey and the only change in the new Room One 4 is that the large desk has been built... I think I mentioned that I ground Grim down with the constant nagging, saying I couldn't possibly sort out my room until it was built? Well, he spent Saturday afternoon building said desk and I am very very very embarrassed to say that I haven't even opened a box up yet! Well, actually, I did open a box. I looked into it, huffed, swayed slightly, then closed it back up again ROFL

The room has had the boxes sorted into roughly where they are going to be unpacked.. but the main issue is that I have had a lurgy peeps! Yes, this is my excuse for being lax and not unpacking my stash... I am covered in a rash! I have had it off and on for two weeks now and it is really sore, so moving about hurts more than normal... it is making me feel a bit ickily too... However, it is inexcuseable that I have done beggar all in my new room - the thing is, I made an "essentials" kit din't I? Which means that if I want to make something I have emergency stash there ready and waiting! I should really knuckle down and get it sorted!

Talking of knuckles! Ouchies and lots of sympathies pleasings... I phoned up the water board today to sort out the new account. Well, the lovely lady on the phone said that we have a meter! Do we? I haven't seen one and I am sure I would have noticed, seeing as I have had my head in almost every nook and cranny of the new house. No, she said, it is outside! Aha, outside, hence me not noticing it. So, she tells me where it is and off I go to investigate, she is being very patient, sitting there listening to me trying to find it. Found it! Just outside the driveway in the pavement. So, how to get into it, there isn't a handle on the cover.... so she calmly (I bet she was drawing little devil pictures when she was talking to me though...I would have done had I been her ROFL) tells me that I need to open it like you would a can of paint. So off I go, back inside, to find a screwdriver. And guess what peeps... those screwdrivers that I have been moving from one place to another for the past two weeks have disappeared! So, I improvised and used a pair of scissors. So, picture this; I am kneeling on the ground, over this circley thing, trying to prize the lid off, whilst keeping the phone under my chin so I can keep talking to the nice lady, when the lovely old doggy from next door appears and woofs so loudly at me that I inadvertantly jumped and scuffed my index finger along the edge of the scissors... and then along the pavement. *This is where the sympathy is needed* I have a HUGE plaster on now, with my blood oooooozing out and a big flap of skin hanging off it....argh... it hurts like you wouldn't believe...thank heavens that the doggy from next door is sensible and didn't bite me, can you imagine the amount of sympathy I would have needed for that!!!!

Anyways... enough of my wafflings...this isn't my usual style you know, short and sweet is me.. ahem, normally ROFL... If you haven't seen the WOYWW peeps on your travels, please pop and check out Julia's blog, she is a hoot and this group is ever growing...I am hoping I can get around to see more of you this week, last week was bad of me not to visit more - time and boxes and rashes taking over - excuses I know...but bear with please :O)) TTFN

Oh poor Hels what a time you are having. I hope you have been to the new doc to sort that rash. Is it a stress rash I wonder! The dog next door to us creeps up on me when I am minding own business weeding by the fence, then suddenly barks right by my ear whilst throwing his or her full weight at the fence and me! How I haven't died I don't know!

One of life's worst frustrations is house moving when you cannot open your boxes for a reason such as renovations. That and redecorating your craft room - dread it! So my sympathies to you.

OK now that's enough prevarication and excuses about sore fingers!! Just get into that room and don't come out until you've unpacked at least TWO boxes. Do this every day until the job is done. Just think how chuffed you'll be with your lovely new space when it's all finished .... gawan, you know you want to!

Oh dear Hels... mucking about with scissors and manhole covers and messing with barking dogs... its all a bit dangerous!!
I had the packing fairies visit today for the preview of what is needed... they say one day should be all they need and they will return on the 26th and magically make everything disappear into boxes and then fly away only to reappear in Scotland... I hope they are better than your fairies!!

There's nothing wrong with procrastination. I mean, why do today what you can put off for several weeks? Unless it's fun, in which case bring it on! I hop you feel better soon.
