Sunday Stamper - Week 101 - Brand New Key + Candy Winner!!!!

Morning Stampers...WOWZERS!!! Thank you ALL for all your lovely entries and comments, we got a total of 124! Which means that as well as the original shadow box I made, plus the £15 Gift Certs from The Artistic Stamper and from The Stamp Attic, you also get some Hels' Candy too :O)) [Oh, and while I think of it...MANY THANKS to Jennie and Wendy for their generosity and sponsering the Sunday Stamper Centenary :O))] I will be sorting out some alterable bits n bobs and will send them to the lucky winner, chosen at random by putting all the names into a bowl, those who entered more than once had your names put in for the amount of times you played, then one name was picked out... who just so happens to be... *fanfare please!!! I have been practising my trumpet skills all day for this moment LOL*

CHARLI - Thanks for your entry and please can you email me with your details so I can tell you all about how to claim your prize :O))

This week we have a brand new theme - as usual I am using a song title for the theme - and this week the challenge is to use a KEY on your art. To join in all you have to do is make a piece of art that includes some stamping and the theme, leave me a comment here with a link to the place you are showing your work of art and then I can hop to see you :O)) *Now, for those of you far too young to remember this song, it was by Melanie, but the version I remember more was by The Worzels - go on, look on You Tube, I bet you can find it there ROFL*

Now, I may have mentioned on the odd occasion recently that I have moved house - moved Counties indeedly, and guess what!!!! Grim went into the town centre today and phoned me to say there is a QD store there! Excitement city or what!!! QD is a really cool store that is really erm...what's the word I am looking for??? Cheap? Nah... great value! To the point that he came home with three boxes that nest inside each other, so I altered the medium sized one for my entry this week. And... the three of them only costed £2.99! Cheap or what!!! I am guessing I will be paying QD a visit in the next few days, I mean, it would be rude not to and... after all, I have hardly anything to alter already LOL

I used a generous coat of Traditional Tan paint to cover the box - I would normally have Gesso'd it first, but...er, the Gesso is still packed away in a box - so the two coats of Trad Tan did the same thing. Once this had dried, I coated patches of Rock Candy cracklepaint onto the surface and set it aside to dry. Whilst the drying was going on, I used some of the new Lost & Found papers from Mr T'Holtz - oh wow, if you haven't seen these already...they are LUSH! And, they are my faves out of the three sets - a little treatypoo for myself for being ever so goodly and moving house without moaning and talking about it all the time *tongue firmly in cheek there I am afraid :O))* Matching up some Idea-ology Fragments so they covered the box lid, I popped some onto the papers and then some were stuck onto card that had been DI'd and then stamped with more of Mr T'Holtz's stamps.

Once the Crackle was dried, I spritzed and heat gunned the surface with Walnut Gold Glimmer Mists - then added some Cherrylicious Crafty Notions spray - blending them together as I went, so I got a lovely mottled and old look to the box. I also did the inside of it as I intend to decorate this at some point too! The outside then had a bit of stamping done on it - mainly just lightly so the box looks a bit worn out.

The Fragments were then stuck onto the box using Glossy Accents as glue *tis THE best for this job* and I added a little bottle and an Idea-ology Key and finally added a little UTEE heart I made using the Melt Pot and some red EP's - made yonks ago and saved for future use - actually, I think I used one of these on the other Sunday Stamper piece, again, winding some Resistors around it... wait for it... cos I can't.... resist-or a heart! *groans*

Right, that is all from me - the new theme will run til next 23:00 Saturday May 8th *where is this year going to????* and is open to all :O) thanks for looking - have a grand week... I have finally started to arrange the stuff in Room One 4 - erm, it is all still in boxes but at least the furniture is built - many thanks to Grim for doing that for me... although, I think the constant nagging has ground him down ROFL And, a few peeps have been asking after AlfieCat and how he moved. Well, he looks like he has always lived here, is totally at home and now has a new tag on his collar - and here is a piccy of him, I just went and woke him up, hence to slightly daft look on his face :O))

Thanks everyone... for the lovley comments and all the support whilst this move has been going on, I am nearly back to normal so hopefully will be able to start blogging and hopping daily again :O)) TTFN

Please tell me that you take more than 10 seconds to produce your art work. Again its beautiful (and ever so slightly annoying!)

Are Alfie's eyes that blue or was he taken over by the poltergeist in your new pad? Ooops did no-one tell you!

PS don't remember either song being a mere youngster, but being from Zummerzet the Wurzels rock!

Gorgeous box,I LOVE the transformation Hels, what a fantastic find, and three for that price too. I'd have expected to pay that for one of those pretty boxes.
Lucky you, we don't have a QD shop here, nor have I heard of them, I'd be right over to pick some up too. Maybe they're just in England? :o(
I remember the Worzels version of the song, "thanks for that...I've got it stuck in my head now" lol.
I'm glad Alfie cat is settling in okay, hope you are too.
hugs
Alexandra
