Distressing To Do...

...Over on the Lots To Do Challenge the theme this week is .. Distressing...oooh, my favourite! So, I just had to join in .. making another tag...*not sure why but I just always seem to go for tags when I am making something distressy...is it cos Mr T'Holtz always does tags I wonder???*

Armed with said tag and three of the new Distress Ink colours; Pumice Stone, Stormy Sky and Victorian Velvet *which are my new favourites BTW - I know, I said that Wild Honey and Rusty Hinge were my faves but I can't help chopping and changing my mind LOL* I set about making an inky messy background, smooshing the inkpads directly onto a craft sheet and then spritzing with Mini Mister filled with water and Perfect Pearls - mmm, I seem to be repeating myself...which can only mean I am stuck on this inky messy lark and need to change to something else! So, where was I? Ah, yes... I dipped the tag into the inkyness and then dried with a heatgun, re-dipping til I had the look I liked. I used only Tim Holtz collection stamps on this tag ... mmm...repeating myself again...I need to get out more and use other stamps :O)) I made a collage of stamps for the background...using the same DI's for the stamping...and then added some Staples (Mr T'Holtz's of course) and some flying birdy's.

The little ticket is a Journal Ticket, which I stamped the sentiment onto and then inked with the same DI's again...and made a little curly piece of wire for it to sit on....adding on a Prima flower, which had been distressed with the same colours (oh dear, I truly am sorry about this, I am just making the same thing as the other day but with different stamps ROFL) The Keyhole and Key is an idea lifted straight from Mr T'Holtz's new book...to make the key stay on the keyhole, I added on a Hitch fastening jobby *note use of perfect terminology* using Superglue to stick it, and popped some... *sorry I am being put off...Grim is standing behind me and distracting me* .... Jump Rings on it to keep it secure. The edges of the tag and ticket were distressed with a paper distressing tooley thing, I added some Rock Candy Stickles to the bottom half of the tag, but as usual, my rubbish pics don't show it up...and finally, I used some twill which I added Victorian Velvet to to make it match in with the colours.

That's all for now...another tag and...a question...is it just me... OR... does anyone else love making tags??? I have been a-hopping this weekend and seen some totally amazing pieces of art...but not many tags...maybe's I am looking in the wrong places...And...what do we (I say we cos I am hoping it isn't just me LOL) do with all these tags that we make??? I am getting a bit overloaded with them...I can see a distinct pattern emerging here though; for a few weeks I make hangy things, then move onto shadow boxes, the I go to tags...via cutie cards...then back to tags...HELP!!!

This lovely Hels. I like the tag thing too and always like to try a new technique out on them first. I am thinking of putting together a technique tag book with mine, so that I have them on hand to refer too, what do you think?

I am hoping there will be lot's of TH stuff at the NEC this month...I can't wait to get my hands on the new inks and really hope some of the new TH/ Sizzix stuff will be there...
I have started a list and TH tags and Tickets are at the top...

I have missed visiting and joining your challenges for a few weeks, so busy at the moment, I craft really slow so all my time seems to be for my new DT work and up and coming developments...

I don't really care whether you make tags, cards, frames or even cakes! I just love everything you make. Mr. Holtz has a lot to answer for I fear 'cos I'm now in a 'chunky book' challenge swap and need all the inspiration I can get, so keep it coming, pretty please. xxx

You do Distressed so well!!! Right up your alley! Lovin your work as always.
I seem to do the same thing, jump from one thing to another but it keeps it fresh and always something new to see, don't change a thing.

Hels, this is so awesome. I just love these colors together! Just beautiful. i have swayed away from the tags because I never know what to do with them afterwards either. I usually make atcs so I can at least add them to an album of atcs or make a card that can be sent to a loved one.

This is fantastic Hels - I love all the complex layers. I love tags too, but don't make them that often - wonder why?

I think I've finally realised you are a bit mad, ok possibly a lot mad .. .but at the same time very talented.

Fab tag.

The new DI's are gorgeous - I made the mistake of pre ordering mine and the shop still hasn't received them. Could have bought them 10 times over in different shops but I guess I'll have to be patient for a bit longer.

I like making tags too. Don't know why. Just do.
