Love, At First Sight....

...Oooo, a brand new challenge blog...called Stampotique Designers Challenge...very exciting! I don't own very many of their stamps...total of three at the moment *sad face* but I do love the quirky designs of Daniel Torrente and really there are limitless ways to use the stamps. The theme for this very first challenge is to make a love themed card.

I used two of the three stamps I own...stamping in StaZon and then colouring with Distress Inks...and then I made a little message...which I thought was a bit clever for me really...cos the girly is cute and the little fella is...erm..how can I put this? .... er...as ugly as sin?? ROFL The little figures are actually on 3d foam but it doesn't show up too well in the pic.

I used some Glimmer Mists to make a background...argh, my favest colour has blocked up! Typical after I have only just said that none of my Mists have ever clogged...so the colour used isn't the one I wanted to and it doesn't really go with the heart, which is actually cut using a Grungeboard element as a template (the Grunge heart is long gone!) and inked this with Fired Brick and then stamped a Tim Holtz harlequin stamp and added his Staples.

Thanks for looking and if you get chance, pop over to the new challenge blog...their designers are truly talented and very inspiring!

Love them hels but then i love stampotique, they are a bit marmite - love em or hate em sort of thing, but the more you look the more you just have to love them, watch out for the new ones, they are just fab!

Sat here thinking and decided I just had to say it. Anonymous I think you are most unfair to leave a comment like that, especailly anonymously too. Hels chose to join in a challenge, and what you see is her interpretation of that. If you don't like it then fine, if we all liked the same things the world would be a boring place, but really, you did not have to be so rude and unkind.

Hi Hels,
As a member of the Stampotique design team I want to thank you for taking part in the first of the challenges.
I agree with Wendy that some of the images are very "marmite", you either love or hate them but there really is no need for anyone to be so rude about someones art work, especially anonymously. If you feel the need to be rude at least have the nerve to put your name to your comment.

Your card for the challenge is just too cute (and funny.

I am sooo sorely tempted to get some of these Stampotique stamps - they are so not me but I am loving them all the same.

Great card Hels and it really made me laugh with that text!

I've only just noticed the comment from 'anonymous' Hels - what a sad person they must be!

Shannon said...

Love the card, love the images, and the cute saying, and I love your work always.

Do mean people just have nothing better to do than write horrible messages on blogs? Anonymous, leave and please do not come back. Hels doesn't need you here or your nasty comments.
