Sunday Stampers - Week 89 - Anyone Who Had a Heart....PLUS OWOH & Candy!

Morning Stampers...blimey, what a week ... first of all, many thanks to everyone who has joined in with last weeks challenge, it was great to see so much lovely art and some new peeps too :O)) Secondly, wowzers at the amazing comments I have been left for the One World One Heart 2010 event...and, by way of a thank you I am adding this weeks challenge entry to the giveaway list...and, not forgetting all you lovely Stampers on a Sunday, there is a little Candy giveaway too.

The theme this week is...HEARTS which is in keeping with the OWOH event too...all you need to do to join in with the challenge is make something that includes the theme and some stamping and leave me a comment on this post with a link to the place you are showing your creation. To be in with a chance of winning the candy, all you need to do is leave me a comment & become a follower of my Blog and add a link on your blog to this post... or join in ... or all three! The candy is a set of my Stitchels Dashy Dot designs u/m stamps and a piece of Kling On to mount them onto.

So.. the week! Well, Larry the Laptop sadly gave up the ghost on Wednesday and as hard as Grim tried to fix it, it conked out...so, I had to go and get a new one... now, indulge me a bit here...as much as I hate to admit it...I LOVE my new lappy...which is called Lionel...but I didn't love shelling out all my stash money which was supposed to be buying the new Wendy Vecchi stamps and the new Tim stash....mmmm....I think I will have to appeal to Grim's better nature and see if I can get him to buy me some for my birthday...which isn't til June but I like early birthday pressies LOL And, I have got Windows 7...and it is super speedy, which means that poor Grim doesn't have to listen to me cursing everytime I try to get online ROFL

My entry this week was a cobbled together affair to say the least...I had a free afternoon...and sat there twiddling my not so inky thumbs with a distinct lack of Mojo! Typical! So, I reverted to the one thing that always gets me creating...and that is a Shadow Box...which is my last one in the stash, so that is something else needed on the wishlist LOL The frame was painted with *just to be predictable* Claudine Hellmuth Traditional Tan paint, covered with blobs of Rock Candy Crackle and then once this was dry and crackled, I spritzed the whole lot with a combo of Lily Pad and English Ivy Glimmer Mists....which was waaaay too green, so I slapped on some Walnut Stain Glimmer Mist to calm it down a bit.

The collage in the centre was made using a piece of card, cutting it into oblongs (you know, I haven't said that word since I was at school ROFL) and squares, using Old Paper, Peeled Paint and Brushed Corduroy DI's to colour the card, stamping with Walnut Stain DI and then edging all the pieces with Walnut Stain to make the pop a little bit. I added some Idea-ology and a Fragment to the collage...oh, and all the stamping is done with Tim Holtz collection stamps...and the heart is kind of obscured by the Idea-ology frame at the top...bad planning of the layout there me thinks!

To finish the box, I added some more Idea-ology and then rootled through my junky box and found a rusty tin heart, a teensy watch bit, part of an yakky old earring which I prised the back off and cleaned it up a bit...and added a little bottle with beads in...well, all my Shadow Boxes have these little bottles so I couldn't leave one out of this one. The word in the Idea-ology frame is an Adage ticket which I inked and then used Rock Candy Stickles too.....oh, and I added these to the heart too...so it didn't get lost in the whole design :O)) Here is a piccy of the Candy

Anyways, that is way too much waffling from me...I am typing so much cos I am loooooving this new keyboard, it is all bouncy and non of the letters have worn off yet *N keys seem to fall foul of my fingernails* Have a great week everyone and please don't forget to do the stuff to be in with a chance of winning the Candy :O))

Hels x

PS...please scroll down for the OWOH posts...also, the pics of the giveaways are on my sidebar....and I will make a dedicated post later this week at the top...when I get time...if I can drag myself away from fiddling with my new toy ROFL

This shadow box is awesome. I love how old and antiquey (Is that a word?) it looks. Never fear...I seen where the heart was right away. Now to finish off the heart plaque I am making and post it so I can plan to win your candy... :)

Will join in after the tennis... come on Andy.
