Once In A Blue Moon....

...or...whenever there are five Wednesdays in a month...

The Gingersnap Creations team set a challenge every Wednesday, but when there are five in the month they set a Once In A Blue Moon challenge...which is extra special :O)) The theme for today's challenge is to incorporate a couple of the previous challenges and make a piece of art: There is a massive list to choose from....oh, what to pick!!! I decided on the Chipboard challenge and the Tan, Teal and Blue colour challenge and created a hanging piece....surprise, surprise, more hanging art...I will have to get Grim to make me a big shelf to hang all these creations from soon...they are taking over LOL

I used a large piece of Maya Road chip from a book, painted it all over with Traditional Tan and then once this was dry, splodged some Rock Candy Cracklepaint over the middle. Once the crackles appeared, I heat set them so they were finer and then used Jazz Blue Glimmer Mist to colourise the piece.

I cut loads of Studio 490 flowers from Grungepaper and coloured some with Trad Tan paint, applying with a babywipe so it was nice and smooth, some were coloured with Faded Jeans Distress Ink and the others with more Glimmer Mist. Once they were dry, I stamped lots of backgrounds onto them and then added a tan button to the middle.

The sentiment is on another Maya Road chip shape, the middle is Trad Tan again and the surround is Faded Jeans. Guess where the sentiment came from??? What? You don't know? It is another of Wendy Vecchi's Studio 490 stamps *ROFL*

The hangy bits are Idea-ology clippy things which I can't remember the name of...and I added a little Philosophy tag using a jump ring. The beaded fringing at the bottom started life being clear beads, so I sprayed them with the Jazz Blue and just dried them off to match.

Thanks for looking....two posts in one day!!!

I saw this challenge earlier, haven't had a chance to have a go yet, but this is great - I couldn't find any Rock Candy crackle at the weekend, it went fast! I love those flowers.
