Sunday Stampers - Week 63 - Imagine

Morning Stampers,

Thanks for joining in with the challenge last week - I saw some gorgeous pretty creations :O))

This week I have returned to my usual style of inky and messy for my entries...notice I say in the plural...I got a bit carried away with this weeks theme you see! The theme this week is Imagine...as ever, to join in, all you need to do is make something, be it an ATC, card, wall art, the choice is yours, incorporate the word Imagine into your design and use some stamping along the way too. Once you have made your piece, please pop back here and leave me a message and then I can hop on over to your Blog for a nosey :O))

Hanging Art - Imagine #1

I started out with a Grunge Book cover, which is a fab bracket style shape. The holes are already punched in and it is a bit thicker than normal Grungeboard so very durable. I covered it with DewDrop Inks - using Crimson Copper, Crimson Pearlescent and Cosmic Copper inks.

Next I used my favouritest ever crafty product...yes, Grungepaper...and coloured pieces of this with the same inks, cutting a thin strip which would make "ribbon" to be used with the copper slider.

I used those fabulous Studio 490 stamps by Wendy Vecchi..well, I haven't used them for a few days so I had begun to have withdrawals from them LOL I stamped the images using Ranger Black Archival ink and dried it off with a blast from the Heat Gun. I cut out the stamped images and curled them and distressed them a bit to liven them up.

Next I used the Bug with Nesties and cut out two Labels from Grungepaper, coloured with the inks and stamped on a sentiment with the word Imagine in it and decorated the larger label with leafy images which are also Studio 490 stamps.

Finally, once all the bits were stuck down with silicone glue, I added a some wire for the hanger and made a little hanging baubley thing using beads and a bit of chain.

Hanging Art - Imagine #2

The base of this piece is actually a chipboard BIA book cover but it is so lovely that I thought if I turned it on its side it would be perfect for a hangy piece. I had to sand the surface of the cover as it is a bit shiney and the Distress Inks I was using really didn't want to stick to it. Inbetween the layers of colour, I used the Heat Gun to set the inks...I used Old Paper, Weathered Wood and Vintage Photo Distress Inks for this bit.

I then used some creamy card to make a border strip which was done with a Martha Stewart punch...if you knew the trouble I had had trying to find this punch! I trawled the t'internet for hours last week looking for the Doily one...nowhere in stock, so got this one instead, and I have to say, it is rather yummy :O))

Next, I used the Slice to make a heart for the message...used the Bug and an Embossing Folder to make the backing for the heart and then got stuck in with the stamping. The main stamped images are again from the fab Studio 490 designs but this time I did venture out and use a flower image by Declassified and the Imagine word is part of a definition by Lost Coast.

I used the Studio 490 stamps to make a split background, my fave has to be the spotty stamp, it just makes the most gorgeous backgrounds and is brill for stamping over plain images to jazz them up a bit too.

I added a few bits of the Idea-ology range to this piece - am so loving these little metal embellies as they really give a grand finishing look...the press studs are cheated a bit - the chipboard is too thick for them to go thru, so I just used good old Glossy Accents to stick down the top part of the press stud...none the wiser eh??

Finally, I rummaged in my Bits n Bobs box and found a broken brooch, stuck this to the design and then added a few beads to a teensy glass vial....The inks, Grungepaper/Board/Book, the Idea-ology stuff and the glass vials are all available from The Artistic Stamper.

Thanks for looking and I hope you like this new theme, which, as ever will run for the whole week...have a great day...apologies for the rubbish pics today...the hand is okish but after all this crafting it is a bit sore... the clicking of the mouse was hurting so I ended up chopping the pix about! LOL
