Sunday Stamper - Week 37 - Ruby Tuesday

Morning Stampers :O))

Thank you for joining in last week, I loved visiting you all and seeing your heavenly interpretations of the theme Grim set for us.

This week the theme is Red. I had loads of different song titles I could chose from for this colour but I really love Ruby Tuesday - the Marianne Faithful version being my favourite. I always said that if I had a little girl, I would have called her Ruby. I guess that I will have to convince Grim to let me have a girly puppydog instead (wonder if he will read this post!!! LOL....and if he does, will he get the hint?)

I have made another butterfly for the Butterfly Project - click here to transport you to Dan's Blog where he has written all about the reason for making the butterflies and also, he has kindly made a great downloadable template for CriCuts or printing and cutting out - which is what I have done. His template is live on his Blog so you can pop over and just click to download.

Anyways, my butterfly this week is red! Very red! I managed to be lucky enough to get a couple of the new Tim Holtz Idea-ology range Masks. They are massive! But they are also fabby and I used two different ones on this project. I used Fired Brick Distress Ink to colour over the top of the masks and then spritzed the whole surface with Antique Brass Glimmer Mist whilst the masks were still in place.

Once the Glimmer Mist had dried, I inked up a brand new stamp I got today.....oooooooh, it has gone into my Top 10 favest stamps straight to No. 1! It is a dotty background stamp and is from The Artistic Stamper. It is about A5 in size, which is a huge stamp and totally brilliant for covering large areas in one go. However, because I am a stingy moo, I chopped a small part of the stamp off so I now have one large dotty stamp and one small one for tiny places. Sorry, I got carried away there, as I was saying, I inked up the dotty stamp using Fired Brick and stamped all over the butterfly. I then inked up the Dream stamp (Tim Holtz range, Stampers Anon) again using Fired Brick and stamped this onto one of the wings.

Finally, I used a few letters from the new Grungeboard Nature pack, making the word Time. I inked these with Fired Brick and then embossed with Fired Brick Distress Embossing Powder.

Once I had finished I thought that the butterfly looked too red....I know, it is supposed to be red, but I needed to break up the intensity of the colour....so I used the little tiny piece of dotty background that I had cut off, and stamped it randomly using Walnut Stain Distress Ink.

The Grungeboard, Masks, Distress Inks and the heavenly Dotty stamp can be purchased from The Artistic Stamper ... and it would be very remiss of me not to mention that there are also several more large background stamps which are now available here too. Please have a look - there is a gorgoeus lacey one, and lace is the next big thing...so it wouldn't hurt to get in early now would it? LOL

Another close up of Dotty Background

As usual, please leave me a message here with a link to the place you are showing your lovley creation - and I will pop over to have a look at your work of art. I am off to my friends house for Christmas Day today...yes, we have brought Christmas forward and a group of us are meeting up for some festive fun and food!

Have fun peeps and thanks for looking......BTW, does anyone know how to get red ink off my mucky fingers???? :O))
