Introducing......The Sunday Stampers

Hello Everyone!

Today marks the launch of a brand new "Challenge" that I have decided to run. It is called The Sunday Stampers and is basically a challenge that will be set once a week on a Sunday - I reckon you will have sussed that out already though :O))

Here are the bits of info that you will need:-

This "Challenge" is to make either a card, Tag or ATC using inks and rubberstamping.
You can use any kind of ink; Alcohol, Distress, Chalk etc and the style of the piece you are making must have an inky technique and you must use rubberstamping too. The piece you make can include lots of different elements such as Grungeboard, Ribbons, Fibres, Brads ....anything you like really :O))

Each Sunday I will post a new theme for the Challenge and sometimes there will be an extra thing to do also.

Here is a card that I have made for the first theme which is "LOVE". I have decided on this theme as I love all things inky, stampy and messy really and hope that lots of people join in this challenge and have lots of fun. I first of all took a nice sized square card and cut a mat using gold mirri card. I then took a piece of plain cream card and used Fired Brick Distress Ink to colourize it. I spritzed with Glimmer Mists and also plain water to achieve a mottled background effect. I used a piece of "Ancient Gold" paper for the top of the card and stamped a PaperArtsy heart stamp from a Pierot Plate for background detail. Next I took Grungeboard "Elements" shapes - using the heart, wings and the crown. I painted the wings with Pearl Adirondack Dabbers, I painted the crown with Gold Adirondack Dabbers and then used Fired Brick Distress ink to colour the heart. Once the paints had dried I used my finger to smudge gold paint over the shapes to add a little touch to the colours I had used. I also used a little bit of sandpaper to distress the shapes too. To achieve the stripey look I rubbed the edge of some mountboard over a Walnut Stain inkpad and then streaked this over the distressed card. I took another piece of plain Grungeboard to make the message piece, inked it with Fired Brick, spritzed with Gold Glimmer Mist and then stamped the word LOVE onto it using Versafine Sepia ink. I added a couple of screwhead brads and a bit of organza ribbon for decoration.

Once you have made your card/tag/ATC, please can you upload your creation to your own Blog or PhotoBucket, make a comment on this post and add a link to your page so we can all have a look at your brilliant work of art and also....please can you let me know if you have enjoyed making it too :O))

Have fun and thanks for taking part.

Hugs Hels xx

Hi Hels this is my first ever attempt at a challenge so please be kind not sure if I got it right as I did more stamping than inking
The large heart was sprayed with wild plum and raisin colour wash and cut out on my cricut then put through my cuttlebug. I used black stazon for the stamping using stamps by Aud and Autumn leaves
hope the link works

Have had a go at this hope the link works ok. I used a Crafty Individuals stamp for the main image -embossed with gold embossing powder and coloured in heart in red marvyleplume pen. Stamped Linda Luckin's heart stamp on main red card and embossed in gold. Stamped words in black versafine and mounted with 3d foam on card. RachelP
