Sunday Stamper - Week 228 - A Taste of Honey

Goooodly Morning Stampers and a very happy Sunday to you all! Hoooge thanks for all your gorgeous metalic creations for last weeks challenge, I saw some completely awesome techniques on my hoppings, especially one from Buttons - check it out HERE.  This weeks theme is one of my fave songs ( of course, The Beatles) and I figured that with Autumn upon us, the trees and hedgerows changing colours, along with some gorgeous new stencils and stamps out there that the theme this week would be... HONEY COLOURS/HONEYCOMBS.   To join in is simples: make a little something, it can be anything you fancy.  Add in the theme and some stamping and then pop back here with a link to the place you are showing your entry.  If you don't have a blog you can join in via email, Facebook or any other web-photo-hosty-thingy.  The theme will remain open until 21:00 Saturday 27th October 2012.

My entry this week is actually a sample from my recent shows that I haven't had chance to blog yet. It is a Studio 490 Spool, inked, stained, stamped, sanded and decorated with Grunge, Art Parts and Embellish Your Art goodies.

The base colours are Bundled Sage Stain with a smidge of Walnut Stain around the edges, then they were sanded and then overstamped with the F A B new honeycomb stamp from the Studio 490 Art For You stamp set.  I added in some Art Part Bugs & Butterflies which co-ordinate with that stamp set too.  My smidge of honey colour is on the Star (from the Heart, Love & Stars Art Parts) and the Wildflower.  The butterflies are Grungepaper, coloured with Faded Jeans DI and the Art Part butterfly was blinged up with Cosmic Shimmer Vintage Green spray.

I am speed blogging, can you tell?  It is about 8.30pm Saturday evening... I have had a F A B day at Let's Create in Coningsby - thank you to Jo & Mark for hosting the in-store demo and making me so welcome again.  Also a hooooge thank you to all the lovely ladies who stopped by to watch... and a special mention to Bayleigh, who is 10 years old, addicted to Studio 490 and ink... and was my very special helper for the afternoon, bless her, I wanted to bring her home with me!  She made a gorgeous piece of art for me, I will give it pride of place here tomorrow.

Oh and the reason I am scheduling this post?  Well, today is THE day!  Oh yesh, today is the final three rounds in the British Touring Car Championship at Brands Hatch... and we are off to watch!  I am doing a "sun-dance" at the moment (please don't rain!) and of course, we will be cheering on Jason Plato.  There are three contenders for this years championship and we so want Plato to win.  SO much so that we are up uber early and off uber early so we can get a good spot to watch (like getting out of bed at 4am early!)  If you are watching it on the telly, look out for us... we will be the sensible ones with the brollies and blankets!  (well, I will have a blanket, if Grim is a good boy I will share it with him lol) Thanks for looking... have a great day!  TTFN

PS... GO PLATO!!!!

Almost on top of my game this week - ha ha! Thanks for the kindly comments last week. I can return the favour. Your piece today is terrific. I bet lots of crafters were oohing and aahing over it. I actually have a collection of vintage spools that I ferreted out on my travels! My souveneirs are never found in the tourist shops. Anyway enough rabbiting here is my contribution this week. http://timetocreate-handmadetreasure.blogspot.com.au/2012/10/days-are-galloping.html

PS I promise to remove all dangerous and scary creatures from our place when you come to visit - you'll have to give us a lot of notice though :)Just our 2 acres- not the whole of Australia!
