The Key of Life...

...I was going to do another cheesy song thing again and decided against it today, my singing is even offending me at the moment lol   Anyways, another day, another demo sample from my Melt Art telly shows on Wednesday.  This creation was the main demo piece on the 5pm show.  As with the 12pm show, I decided to go with this new idea I have had... not making an "original" piece for the demo... you know, where I do the "here's one I made earlier" thing.  So, I prepped up this piece and just went for it.  I am still convinced it makes things feel a bit fresher...

The base for this piece is a bit of cardboard that I ripped off some of the top layer to expose the corrugations.  Ooh, I likes that word... corrugations... it kind of rolls off the tongue doesn't it?  Anyways, once I had removed some of the top layer I set about colouring it with paint.  Starting with Mushroom Eco paint and then adding smudges of Cool Peri and Pool Dabbers applying the paints with Cut & Dry.  I also coloured a mini canvas in the same way so the piece had some 3d-ness to it.  A piece of cosmetic tissue, cut to size and then stamped with the Heartfelt Creations Tattered Blossom stamps and a few CE Newsprint Flourish stamps, adding a bit of a background design.  I did the same with the sentiment... a single layer of cosmetic tissue and some flowers and swirls.  The tissue was applied with beeswax, I just love the way the wax makes the tissue disappear.. meaning you can get a stamped image perfectly onto the corrugations... mm, am so gonna be saying that word all day!

I made roses out of the Posy Patch flowers stamps and scrapbook paper and stamped and cut the Classic Leaves out and these were dipped into UTEE for the Faux Porcelain effect.  I dragged the metal leaves through the clear UTEE too so they get completely coated... loves this effect too!  The ickle Hat Pin was filled with Tropic Violet, Lapis Sapphire, Olympic Gold and Black UTEE.  If you use your Melt Pot lid as a template, pop it onto a craft sheet, draw around it, cut it out leaving a couple of flaps sticking up at the sides, you have the perfect way of lifting stuff in and out of the Melt Pot.  Placing the Hat Pin on the craft sheet in the Pot heats up the metal, then when you add the powders, they melt and you can swirl them around and make patterns... look at the colours in this...

I am back on the tellybox on January 21st... and I have a new-to-me product... you will be a wee bit surprised when you sees me using it you know... but I have to say... I lurves it!  Thanks for looking.. have a fabby day! TTFN

One Day Only.... It's Giveaway Time...

...cor blimey and thrice!  It is a yonkle and a half since I last did a giveaway so I figured it was high time to do one.  I am giving this Media Mixage large Heart Bezel away to one randomly chosen commenter.  To be in with a chance of winning is simples:  just leave me a comment on this post.  I will give each comment a number in the order the comments are left (any duplicate comments will be deleted so everyone has just one chance to win) and then I shall feed the numbers into a random generator and that will give me a winner.  The giveaway will be open for just 24 hours (well, actually 23 hours and 59 minutes and 59 seconds) so if you would like to own this (IMO) lush piece of Melt Art jewellry, just leave a comment!  **I unfortunately do not accept anonymous comments on my blog, so if you do want to join in, all you need to do is get yourself a Google Account and then you will be able to leave a comment**

Remember last Sunday when I was all of a dither over the brand new Cosmic Shimmer Pure White UTEE?  Well, this is why.... cos when you add just the smidgiest of amounts to any colour, it makes the most wonderful marbling effects.  On this piece, I melted up some Midnight Blue UTEE and then added two very fine lines of White to the melted UTEE and once this had melted, used the tip of my Cool Tool Spatula to marble the colours though each other.  Also, remember what I said about the white?  You only need the most smidgiest amount as it is a solid colour - which means it is white right the way through.  Normal coloured UTEE (save for the black) is actually clear in the middle and has the colour stuck the outside ... so you can melt down some clear, add in your fave colours and mix them together and your clear won't dilute your colours.  However, with the white (and black) they are solid... so less is really more.  If you managed to bag a pot of the Pure White UTEE last weekend and are getting ready to play, it is also worth remembering that you shouldn't melt just white in your Melt Pot... because it is solid white, if you melt just that, your UTEE will be a lot gunkier to work with... so pop in some clear... and then just a spoonful of white (about 10/15ml)   And... I have also found that if I add it to the Clear before it is melted, it stays white.  If you add it to clear UTEE that has started to "amber" ie, been cooked for a while, it goes a gorgeous creamy colour... the darker the amber, the creamier the look, from single cream right through to clotted cream!  Pretty cool huh?  All I did when I made this piece was marble the two colours together, lifted the Pot, poured into the Bezel and moved the Pot back and forth a bit so the molten UTEE filled up the Bezel nicely.  Job done!

Remember... one ickle comment... that's all you needs to do.   I shall away now... I have a date with a rather fluffy pillow and an aircon unit (omg, we bought that aircon unit about 185 years ago and it is worth its weight in gold... believe me, it is mahooosive and noisy but oh my, cooool bedroom = sleepy snoozles = Happy Hels!)    Oh and please do check back tomorrow... there is a new Sunday Stamper challenge theme and the winner of the Bezel will also be announced!   Thanks for looking, have a FAB day!  TTFN

It's Giveaway Time!!!

...Cor! Blinking! Blimey! And! Thrice!  Indeedily!  THANKYOU all so very very muchly  for the amazing response to yesterdays Melt Art shows!  Thank you for taking the time to email into the shows (averaging about 60 per show), for your Facebook messages and tags, for your Tweets (I am rubbish at Twitter so apologies if I didn't respond to you) and for your emails to me.  WOW!  As a thank you for your support and you all loving the Melt Pot, here's a little giveaway.  To be in with a chance of winning, simply leave me a comment on this post.  The winner will be chosen at random and announced on Monday May 13th 2013.

And... here it is.  One of the Media Mixage Sheild Bezels... I think these are my fave.. but then again, I loves the Fleur de Lis' and the Triangles... and the Circles... erm.. ok, they are all my faves!   Inside it is clear UTEE that has ambered and I have popped some Mica Flakes into the pot, stirred it up and poured it out (tis really that easy!)   As I said, if you would like to be in with a chance of winning this pendant, just leaves me a comment... simples :O))

I have got another *to-do* list to tackle today.  I had toyed with the idea of pretending that said *to-do* list had actually blown away on a gust of wind... but no... it is there... and needs attention!  Starting with something else that has indeedily blown away on a gust of wind!  Oh yesh, it must have been blowing a hooley here yesterday because when I got home I noticed that one of my little butterfly lights in the garden was there, minus butterfly!  Goodness knows where it has gone.  They are long stalks and a-top sits a clear butterfly that has an LED jobby in it to make it change colour.  Well, the changy colour thing is still attached to the stalk... the butterfly, however, has disappeared.  I have been out this morning, crawling about looking for it... and nope, nowhere to be seen!  I did think about accusing AlfieCat of stealing it but he wouldn't have reached the top of the stalk (he is reknowned for nicking stuff btw, I am not being mean to him... like the Peridot watch which disappeared, or the hair flower that went missing last week!)  Anyways... the *to-do* list ain't going to do itself so I shall bid you a goodly day and say.... thanks for looking... TTFN!

More... Sneaky Peekings...

...cos I can!  Oh yesh, today is the day that I return with the Melt Art Marvels shows on Create & Craft.  The show times are 12pm, 4pm and 7pm and all the channel deets are over in the sidey bar.  As ever, if you aren't in the UK, you can watch online HERE, just click on the "Watch Us Live" button and you should be able to stream the shows.  As promised, a couple more sneaky peeks at some of the samples I have put together for the shows... starting up with this one which is using the gorgeous new Lapis Orange UTEE, marbled with Pearl and Black UTEE's... I am LOVING the orange!  LOTS!

This next one is one of those pourings that is a fluke... I had some left over amber UTEE in the pot so I added some of the pink Mica Powder (also in the show) and gave it a good stir... and then added a smidge of black UTEE and marbled it... and poured.  Oooh, so pretty!  I added a Chain Tassel to the top of the bezel - they are on the shows too!

The fabby thing about the Media Mixage bezels is that you get different sizes... and they have dies to match!  So I had a good time with this diddy Shield shape... a Stampers Anon Classic collage stamp in Jet Black Archival, die cut with the corresponding die and then popped into the bezel and a quick pour of clear UTEE... voila, a gorgeous little charm for a bracelet.

And finally, the diddy bezels middle brother... this one also has the same stamped image, again die cut... and then popped onto the gorgeous silky crush ribbon (also on the shows!)
I hope you like the piccies.... and you enjoy the shows too... please do email in too, I will be doing a giveaway each hour :O))

Right, I shall loves ya and leaves ya as I needs to get myself to bed... thanks for looking!  Have a grand day.... TTFN

I have been given an extra hour too!! So I will be on at 12pm, 4pm and 7pm.  All the deets on how to get the channel etc are in the left sidey bar.  Oh and if you are not in the UK, you can view online HERE and clicking "watch us live"   So... here's a little snip of what is coming up....

Schneeeky Peekingtons....

...I have got a few little piccies to show you... with the brand new product I will be launching on the Melt Pot shows on Wednesday 17th on Create & Craft.  (deets on how to get the channel are in my sideybar)  I am waiting on times being confirmed but I do know one of the shows is at 7pm.  So, you want to know what I am raving about???  Well, I am going to be bringing you the brand new Media Mixage range by the brilliant Susan Lenart Kazmer and Spellbinders...  How chuffty tuffty am I!!!!  I have long been a fan of Susan's eclectic style, her embellishment range blew me away when I went to Michael's for the first time - to the tune of $100!  (not to mention every visit after that first one too lol)  Here is a sneaky pic....

Aha, I am mean, only showing you a tiddly little bit... so... here are some more... this one is my favest one I have poured so far... the photo's don't do it justice at all.

Here's one of the gorgeous heart shapes that has some Clear UTEE poured in and... some of my fave Suze Weinberg Bedazzles... I love those little beads of gorgeousness!

Remember that last demo I did on the Four Day Deals shows?  I was using Blue Raspberry, Pearl and Black UTEE's in the pot and I marbled them... well... I left it in the pot so I could pack up straight after the shows, got home, melted it up again and then poured it into the little Media Mixage bezels... these are just a few pics, I will have lots more samples for you to see over the coming days and of course, some *hot* demo's ready for Wednesday... here are the larger of the Media Mixage, I am a sucker for a heart but I love, love, love the Fleur-De-Lys... how pretty is that!!  Please do excuse the rubbish photography, using a camera is always a battle for me, the photo I see in my head never looks like the one I take lol If you squint a bit, you will see them in focus more lol

As well as the gorgeous Bezels, I will also have the dies to match them too... the possibilities for playing with these are endless... I am honoured to be able to bring them to you for the first time on the telly... whooothoooot!  *doing a little happy dance*  Right, I shall away... am scheduling this post to publish but will be back tomorrow with another Sunday Stamper challenge for you all.  Thanks for looking, have a FAB Saturday!  TTFN
