Snowflakes...

...as promised on yesterdays Sunday Stamper post, here's the tag that I made at the same time as the other one.  This one has a slightly different background... another "I wonder if..." moments when I created this one:

So.  The new Metallic Distress Stains have been sitting patiently waiting for me to play with them and I was having a little faff on Saturday night and happened to have my Picket Fence Stain out at the same time (see yesterdays post about how I used it :O))   I decided to see if mixing Picket Fence with a Metallic Stain would work... oh boy... does it ever!   I smooshed some PF Stain on to my craft sheet and then did the same amount of Antiqued Pewter - a tip, when you press the valve down onto the craft sheet, gently squeeze the sides of the bottle, whilst it is pretty tough plastic it does give a little, meaning  you can get a nice dollop of Stain on your craft sheet.  A very light mist of water and then a swoosh of the tag through the inky mix.  Flip over, dry, repeat the dipping and then dry again.  I love the milkyness of the effect!

Tag before embellishing

The snowflakes were stamped first with Picket Fence Stain and dried, then overstamped with Chipped Sapphire Stain to achieve a nice smudgey look.  I used the tip of a paintbrush to pick up some of the Antiqued Pewter Stain and then flicked it over the tag, repeating this process with the Chipped Sapphire... yum!  The embellies are the Mini Snowflakes Alterations, cut using the new Holiday papers from Tim... and a little canvas sprig behind them... with a snowflake brad that has been lurking in my stash for 382 years.  Finishing touches are some Lavish Trimmings, left uncoloured but smudged with Rock Candy Stickles to make them sparkle.  The pics don't really show that but it is there :O))

I have a mahooooosive to-do list again today!  I am feeling positively virtuous this morning though... I have just cleared the ironing mounting - and yep, I ironed it all, even my freshly laundered inky-binky's!   Today  I am sample making for my shows on Wednesday - 11am and 7pm  on Create & Craft and am absolutely covered in ink... tis the best way to be right?  I shall away, cards to ink, stamps to...erm... stamp!  Thanks for looking... have a grand day... TTFN!

I love these tags Hels - wish I had some of the metallic stains but I have other things I could try. The blues are beautifully frosty and I love the snowflakes. Looking forward to your next shows.

Morning Hels, Stunning tag, I absolutely love both tags equally, you have excelled yourself. I was so in love with the snowflakes, that I ordered both sets yesterday. I love how you have used the metallic dabbers, they are next on my list together with Tim's new holiday papers, I tried searching for the holiday papers yesterday but couldn't seem to find any, I will keep searching ha ha !!.
Looking forward to your shows tomorrow, I will be watching.
I'm looking forward to seeing you at Kettering on Saturday, 4 hour train journey there, but only 3 trains this time ha ha.
Have a good day.
Lots of love from Patricia xx
