Tickets Please!

Hello,

Over on the Think Monday, Think ATC challenge Blog, the theme this week is Tickets.

This is the first time I have joined in with this challenge as I have finally got up to date with all my crafty lists!!

I love making ATCs but have been a neglectful crafter recently so I hope that this one makes up for it!

I began by cutting an off cut of mountboard to ATC size. I then coloured the bottom half with Scattered Straw Distress Ink and stamped the Pencil Tops stamp (Lost Coast Designs.) Next I made a mask for the pencils and cut each one out individually and popped them over the images. I then used a waterbrush and painted the top half of the ATC and inbetween the masks using Snowcap Dabber. I had to use a waterbrush cos my dabber is really old and it has gone a bit gunky!

Once the painted surface was dry, I inked up the Diamond stamp (Stampers Anon, Tim Holtz Colln) using Fired Brick Distress Ink. I stamped this over the ATC and the masks too. I then used a piece of kitchen towel to remove some of the excess red ink and dried the ATC with the heatgun.

I used a new stamp in my collection next, which is the birdy in the crown by Autumn Leaves. I took some Distress Inks and then coloured the pencils so they looked a little bit more realistic (this is a technique I have copied from Dan ..if you click here you can see how it should be done!! ) I used Worn Lipstick to make the erasers on the pencil tops look pink and then Mustard Seed and Fired Brick for the rest of the lettering.

Finally, I used one of the brand new Tickets from the very talented Mr Holtz, distressing the edges and punching a hole in it so it looked like it had been "clipped" and then stuck it to the ATC. I added a little gold crown behind the ticket and then edged the whole ATC with black permanent marker.

I loved making this ATC, so thank you to Linda who has made the most amazing ATC for this challenge, which inspired me to have a go this week!!

Thanks for looking!

Hels x
