Morning,
Another hit of cuteness - I know, I know but it is so nice to be able to diversify and just sit and colour in and make pretty cards LOL And, my fingers stay relatively clean too!!
This card features one of the new Spring 09 Tilda's...so cute!
I used some gorgeous papers by K&C0 from the Que Sera Sera range and embossed the card and paper thru the Bug. I used a Bug diecut to make the words and Nesties for the mats.
The flowers are mainly Prima's and I added a little paper one to the middle to make them stand out a bit and popped a couple of fancy head pins which I had threaded with beads, behind the flowers, which I had stuck on using a great gob of silicone glue! LOL
Thanks for looking.

Vintage ATC - Sailor Boy
Hi again,
Here is another ATC I have made for the UKStampers swap:
I used a cute little rub on of the little fella and then cut it out and mounted it onto the prepped background, which I created by using Faded Jeans and Vintage Photo Distress Inks.
The stamping is one of the newbies from Tim, I think this is my fave sheet at the moment, the stamp is very versatile indeed! I added dots of Glossy Accents to jazz it up a bit too. Oh, and the word Journey is a DooDad which I coated with Glossy Accents after popping it onto 3D foam.
The words are a miniature Tim stamp from one of mini sheets - so loving these new stamps!
Thanks for looking,

Tilda Goes Black & White
Morning!
I am in the mood for cuteness! I have spent a few hours making some Tilda cards and here is just one of the bunch:
I have some beautiful papers in my stash and these inparticular have been sitting ever so patiently, waiting to be cut into LOL
They are by BlackMarket Paper Co and are beautifully textured, which lent perfectly to the slightly shabby effect I was trying to achieve.
I used Pro Markers to colour the Tilda's and then added some little flowers I have collected over the centuries...and also a fabby little embellie I picked up at Ally Pally but not sure of the name of the stall - which is sad cos I neeeed more of these!
Thanks for looking!

Vintage ATC - On a Journey
Hi Peeps :O))
I have joined in with the ATC swap on UK Stampers this month where the theme is Vintage.
I just so happen to love all things old...(I could make a joke about Grim here but I won't LOL)
The ATC was made using a card blank, colouring with Old Paper and Tea Dye Distress Inks and then accenting with Vintage Photo. Splashing water gave me a lovely splotchy look and then I used on of the fab ATC stamps from the Tim Holtz Collection.
I stamped this a couple of times, onto the ATC itself and then onto scrap card, I cut out the bits I wanted to layer up and make a feature of and then used 3D foam to stick them to the ATC.
I added a mini brad to the ruler and a teensy little paper clip, both of which are part of the Idea-ology collection. Finally, I added Glossy Accents to the car to make it stand out and covered the whole ruler with it too.
Thanks for looking :O))

Ink The Pink :O)
Hey Peeps
I altered a tag using Adirondack inks for a change...don't get me wrong, I looove my Distress Inks but the colours are a bit drab and as it was sunny in my room of stash, I felt in a bright mood.
I used yellow to cover the whole tag and then used a little mask from the Tim Holtz range, covering one corner. I used Wild Plum and Sunset Orange to get the bright colours and then removed the mask and chucked some water over the tag...giving it a bit of a splotchy look.
After drying with the heatgun, I set it aside and painted some Grungeboard and Grungepaper with Adirondack Dabbers in a mix of yellow and Wild Plum with a dash of white to dilute the colour. Once this had dried, I used some Tim Holtz stamps, using Versafine to stamp the letters onto the Grungepaper and the bird onto Grungeboard.
Once these were cut out, I attached them to the tag and then tied some ribbon thru the hole in the top. I added a little pin with a metal charm from the Idea-ology range and then used a mixture of orange and pink Distress Stickles to cover the letters.
Thanks for looking :O))

Sunday Stampers - Week 60 - On The Wings Of Love
Hi Stampers
Thanks for joining in with the challenge last week :O))
This week the theme is WINGS.
To join in, all you need to do is make something and add some stamping and some wings to your piece, make a post here with a link to the place you are showing your work of art and I can pop by and visit you!
I made a bit of a mess this week....I had a fab tutorial from Dan - who showed me how to start off with a mixed media style of project....only, I ended up finishing it alone and this is what it has turned out like...are you ready? Now, don't laugh....oh, ok, go on....I know you should cos this has to be the strangest looking face I have ever seen LOL **thanks to Dan for his patience, shame I couldn't have done more in the time we had....perhaps this would have turned out a bit better LOL
Anyways, I really loved getting the background by layering and layering loads of coats of acrylic painting...and yes, there is some stamping in there...I used a couple of Tim Holtz background stamps, white acrylic paint and then put more paint over the top..then sanded it off so the dimples of the stamp show thru.
As for the woman, well, enough said LOL
Thanks for looking and have a great week.

Strike a Pose!
Hey Peeps
I made a card for one of my fellow Paper Dolls' birthday and the theme for her tag book was Fashion. Yikes, I have absolutely nothing fashion related in my stash...apart from a Tim Holtz stamp that I have never used cos it is HUGE!
Well, I decided to use some old BG papers from the Scarlets Letter range which have a print over them which looks like an old dressmaking pattern.
I stamped the image directly onto the papers, and then re-stamped parts of the stamp so I could decoupage the image of the woman so she looked like she was wearing a different coloured suit and also to tone her face to more fleshy colours.
Once I had cut out the bits, I popped them onto 3D foam and then placed them over the original image.
I used Tim's Staples to add a little bit of effect to the design and that was it! I also used some vintage lace that I have in my stash, cutting out the little flower details and popping a fancy pin threaded with beads behind it - I used a great dob of silicone glue so the pin would sit nicely in there! I also added a little press stud from the Idea-ology range to the tag - well, it was sort of fashiony!
I am so chuffed because Liz, the recipient of the card and tag, was over the moon with them....it always makes me happy when I have made something that the person it is intended for likes!
Thanks for looking and hope you all have a grand weekend. Oh BTW, this is now my new fave stamp!!!

UK Stampers Challenge 40 - N is for Numbers
Hey Peeps :O))
I have made a tag for the UK Stampers challenge which this week is N for Numbers.
Thirteen is one of those numbers that you either love or loathe...I happen to love it cos my birthday is on a 13th so it is a lucky one for me LOL
This tag was made using Distress Inks, Tim Holtz stamps, Grungepaper and Grungeboard, along with a few dabs of Distress Stickles and Glossy Accents.
I covered a tag with Distress Inks and sploshed about with water to make it grungey...then I stamped a huge Tim Holtz stamp which is made up of numbers, then I used a different colour ink to add the floral stampy elements. I stamped the card image onto Grungepaper, coloured this with more Distress Inks and then cut out and popped onto the tag. The words are made up of alpha's from Stamps Away and the Grunge number border at the bottom was made by painting palin grungeboard, stamping, adding Distress Inks and then Distress Stickles. The clip is from a little collection of hardware that I bought but binned the packaging so can't remember who made it. All the stash that I used today, apart from the hardware can be bought from The Artistic Stamper.
Thanks for looking..you should see my fingers...well and truly inky, just how I like it!! LOL

Inky Birthday To You!
Hey Peeps
My friend Bee celebrated her birthday the other day so I made a card for her using the inky messy technique using Adirondack pads and water....I posted about this a few weeks ago - you remember, those tags that I altered???? :O)) Oh, and I used some Cut N Dry foam too :O))
Anyways, to go with the card, I made a little card pouch that I put a scented sachet drawer liner thingy into...I didn't like the original packing so I changed it :O))
Using Penny Black Brush Strokes stamps and Wild Plum, Lettuce and Butterscotch Adirondack pads for decorating I then added a few DewDropz and some fringing to fancy up the card.
Thanks for looking, have a good day all!

Sunday Stampers - Week 59 - Walking On The Moon
Morning Stampers!
Well, today is a very special day...my dear friend Andrea and her daughter Sophie will have been walking thru the night on the Playtex Moon Walk - walking the full marathon distance around London.....and the best bit is they are doing all of this in their fancy decorated bra's!!! Hope it isn't cold for them! BTW, why are they doing this? Are they mad? Nah! They are raising funds for Breast Cancer charity and so far they have managed to raise a whopping £2,054 ... fabbbby!
As I type (which is just after midnight) I guess they will just be starting out on their walk and to honour this marvellous thing that they are doing...well, the theme had to be something about walking...and something about the moon....so, the theme this week can be either the Moon or Walking....or both! LOL
I made a card to start off with...using Stamp Francisco moon stamps and Paper Bag Studio's shoe stamps I blended Distress Inks to get the colours I wanted and then added Glossy Accents and Stickles to the moons.
The next thing I made is a bit more to do with the moon...well, if you want to get there you are going to be needing a Rocket. And it just so happens that Dan has a rocket as his free download this week.....go on, you know you want to pop on over to his blog....have a look at his amazing artwork too...you will be there ages!!
For the Rocket, I used the same Stamp Francisco moons and Fired Brick Distress Inks for the main part and for the exhaust I used Pro Markers.
As ever with the Sunday Stamper, all you need to do to join in is make something...any piece of art will do, and incorporate some stamping on your piece, leave a comment here for me with a link to the place you are showing your entry and I can hop on over to have a look.
Thanks for looking and there is still time to sponsor Andrea and Sophie on their worthwhile cause.....if you click here you can be transported to the Just Giving page they have set up!
Have a fun day!
Hels xx
***UPDATE*** I met up with Andrea and Sophie this morning...bless them, they had done the whole lot in just under 7 hours!!! How amaaaaaazing is that!!!!!!! Andrea has some lovely piccies from her visit to the VIP tent last night so I am sure she will be updating her blog very soon :O)) Well done girls, I am so very proud of you both xxxx

Altered Cutlery......A Spoonful of Sprinkles
Morning!
I joined in with a monthly swap over on UKStampers and the theme this month is to alter a piece of cutlery.
How could I resist a swap like this? I love altering things and especially seem to have a bit of a thing about altering spoons....to the point that I have raided eBay and bagged myself a big bumper lot of old spoons and forks!
Here is the spoon that I altered:
The spoon is an old fashioned dessert spoon so it is a nice size to play with. I used Purple Twilight and Juniper Alcohol Inks from Ranger to colour the spoon as it was originally a very dirty looking silver. Once the alcohol ink layer was on, I sat and threaded lots of beads and metal charms onto a piece of wire....this took aaaages but I love the finished look - wrapping it around the spoon handle and then securing it underneath a piece of an old earring which I coloured with silver Krylon.
I sat a big fat pink pearl in the middle of the old earring part and then using silicone glue, I added lots of Microbeads to the end of the spoon and also to the pearl so cover up the thread holes in it.
I am well chuffed with the finished look and just hope that it is ok for the swap !!! I have to admit that again, my photography is letting me down...no matter how many pics I have tried to take of this spoon, none of them make it look as pretty as it is in the "flesh".
Thanks for looking and have a great day....I am feeling more like my old self again so am off for a day in the room of stash....am looking forward to getting inky and messy again!
Oh, and don't forget to pop by tomorrow as there will be a new Sunday Stamper theme set first thing in the morning.....thanks!

B is for Bird - UKStampers Challenge
Afternoon peeps :O))
Blimey, what a week! I am just about feeling better after whatever this bug is that I have had...still feel really tired but I have at last managed to get into my room of stash today....and this is what I made:
B is for Bird Tag
This tag is my entry to the UK Stampers challenge which this week is ... B for Birds!
I used Grungepaper to make a tag base, coloured it with Distress Inks and then added some extra detail using a Tim Holtz mask - and then using Grungeboard shapes, I made the embellishments. I coloured these with the same Distress Inks and then used one of the new clear cling Tim stamps to stamp a little detail onto the shapes...don't think this shows up too well on the piccies though...cos I covered it all in Distress Stickles!! LOL
The little tickets are from the Tim Holtz Idea-ology range and are Adage Tickets, I just added my own Distess Inks to make them match.
I used a gold Krylon pen (I just can't craft without one!) to change the colour of the metal embellies that I added to the tag and threaded some ribbon thru the hole I had punched in the top.
Thanks for looking and I hope that I will be back to normal soon - the Sunday Stamper will have a new theme set on 17th May.....hope to see you then!

Sunday Stamper....Apologies from Hels xx
Afternoon Stampers,
Massive apologies to all of you who usually join in with the challenge....I haven't been able to set a new one for this week because the dreaded lurgy has well and truly come to stay with me :O((
Grim and I went away on our hols last Monday - just a few days on the Norfolk Broads to recharge our batteries after a few very stressful months. Typical for me though, I started with this bug thing last Sunday evening and by mid-week I felt well and truly yukky - somehow I managed to get thru the following days but by yesterday evening I couldn't cope anymore so took myself off to bed for what I thought was going to be 40 winks!
Poor Grim came to wake me a few times and gave up in the end....I finally surfaced at 1pm this afternoon! I had scheduled a load of posts for my Blog so they have all gone on but the poor old Sunday Stamper has been overlooked.
I am still feeling rough - I can't smell or taste anything - been like this for nearly a week! So I thought it best if I roll over last weeks theme for this week as well and then if anyone wanted to join in again then please feel free.
I haven't even visited any of you to say thank you for joining in - I am hoping I will be able to catch up tomorrow - I am going to try and get to see the Doc so hopefully he will be able to give me some medicine to make me better.
Thanks to everyone who has commented on my posts this week and I will do me best to catch up soon.
Am off to snuggle under the duvet again and get some more sleep!
Hugs Hels x

Bookmark It!
Hi Peeps,
Here is a bookmark that I made for a swap I was involved in a couple of months ago.
The base is mountboard and I coloured both sides with Dusty Concord and Faded Jeans Distress Inks. I added scratches to the surface using a little bit of white paint and the edge of an offcut of mountboard.
Side 1
The stamping on this side was made using black Versafine ink and some clear Inkadinkado stamps, they are so lush and lovely to use! The sentiment is from Stamp Attack.
I used a white pen to colour in some of the details on the stamped image to lift it slightly as it did appear to be a bit dark.
Side 2
For side 2, I used a Penny Black sentiment stamp and then randomly stamped the dandelion head from an Art Journey u/m stamp sheet. I added some glitter Diamond Stickles to bling it up a bit.
The finishing touch was a little tassle to tie onto the bookmark....I used white embroidery yarn and and just wound this around my fingers, tied it tight together and added a length of yarn as a tie.
Thanks for looking!

A Little Birdy
Hey Peeps,
Another card today which I made for my stepson to give to his Nan for her birthday.
I used the new Tim Holtz Alcohol Inks....oh, those colours are divine!! I started by adding droplets of Purple Twilight, Juniper and Cool Peri to my craft sheet and then swooshed the glossy paper thru the ink.
Adding a little bit of surgical spirit to the inks left on the craft mat thinned them down so I could use another piece of glossy card and swoosh this too. I then used a fat paintbrush, dipping it into the surgical spirit and then flicking it onto the inky glossy card. This gives a lovely mottled effect, similar to the distressed look you get when you flick water at distress inky backgrounds.
I always use surgical spirit to do this technique as you do use rather a lot of it and it is cheap compared with blending solution!
I used my new stamp designs from the Nature Plate and one of my new Birdy's for the main images. I stamped the small flower from the plate twice and cut out both of them. With the second flower, I cut into the petal and used the wavy line as a guide, so the petals stand out more. Finishing the flower with a DewDropz, I stuck this to the card with silicone glue.
Using a Nestie, I made a little mat for the birdy to sit on and also for the sentiment, which is a Penny Black stamp. I added the word Nan - trying to copy the writing on the stamp but not quite getting it right...heyho, it is art afterall :O))
I dried off all the stamped images with the heatgun - I had used Ranger Archival ink for the stamping.
Thanks for looking and I hope you are having a good week.

Pretty in Pink ... & Purple!
Hi peeps :O))
It is MIL's birthday today so I made a special card for her.
I used Crate Paper from the Kaitlin collection, stamping onto the paper using Violet StaZon and Stitchels stamps from the DashyDot and DottyDot range and layering them up.
The main sentiment is from Penny Black, I love the words, they make me feel happy!
I added little stitches, using a white pen, to the Stitchel flowers and butterflies and popped a few DewDropz into the middles of them and stuck them to the card using silicone glue.
I used three flower headed pins, threaded with beads, to embellish the flowers.
I hope MIL likes this card and has a very happy birthday too!
Thanks for looking....

Tilda Got Tagged....Again!
Hello,
Following on from my post last week about the Tilda Tag for my Cute Tag Swap, here is the second one I made. Sadly, I didn't get chance to finish the third one for it to be included in the swap last month...where does time go eh?
I used a Tilda stamp, isn't she just so cute???? And to adorn the tag, I used Stitchel flower and butterfly stamps from the DashyDot and DottyDot sets, which I coloured, along with Tilda, with Pro Markers.
The little piece of card she is sitting on was made using a Nestability and I made little dots in white pen to match the heavenly Basic Grey Wisteria papers I had used as a base for the tag.
I added a little bit of beaded fringe and a fancy headed pin along with some DewDropz to embellish the flowers and butterflies to finish the tag.
Thanks for looking :O))

Sunday Stampers - Week 58 - Happy Birthday!
Morning Stampers :O))
Many thanks for joining in with the challenge last week. As usual, there were lovely designs for me to look at, so thank you all x
This week is an easy theme - Birthday's!
All you need to do to join in is make a piece of artwork, be it an ATC, card, altered art, etc and include stamping within your design, then leave a comment here for me with a link to the place you are showing your artwork and I will be able to pop by and visit.
I have made a Tilda card for my entry this week and it was actually also my friend Ann's birthday the other day, so she was the recipient of the card :O))
I started with some heavenly BitterSweet papers from Basic Grey and made a couple of mats for the base of the card.
Next, I stamped the cute little Tilda and coloured her in with my ProMarkers. I then stamped a load of Stitchels flowers and butterflies and coloured these in too. The little butterfly that Tilda is holding is from the DottyDot range and is the Mini Mini stamp :O))
I added a heart head pin that had been threaded with beads and a dragonfly embellie and popped the flowers on silicone glue onto the card.
Thanks for looking, have a great Sunday and I am looking forward to seeing your entries.
