Little Bird Lodge - One of a Kind!!

Hi Peeps,

It has been a strange few days for me....and I couldn't sleep last night. So what better way to spend the twilight hours than sitting in my newly organised craft room, fiddling about with inks and stamps! *Yes!!! I finally got all those stamps sorted out into baskets so I can see what I have got ... and ... I even tidied out a couple of drawers too LOL

I am running a little house swap at the moment and here is my first one.

I started off by cutting out my own template from sturdy cardstock. I stamped the door design which is by Invoke Arts and then made a mask for it. Next, I inked up a blending applicator tool using Citrus Yellow Chalk Ink and blended this along with Olive Green Chalk Ink all over the surface of the card, with the mask in place.

I stamped the diamond pattern onto the roof using a Catslife Press stamp and black VersaFine ink. I then painstaking cut out individual diamonds and masked the stamped image...yes, I really did have a lot of time to spare!! I stamped over the top of the diamonds on the roof with a crackle stamp from Crafty Individuals and Moss Green Chalk Ink. I chose the diamond pattern for the house roof to mirror the diamond pattern on the door image.

I stamped a little square onto the house to make a window and added my own "panes" to it, colouring the frames with black pen to match the stamped image. I then stamped a little birdy stamp onto spare card and popped this behind the window, sticking it with Glossy Accents.

I used a PaperArtsy "stonework" stamp for a brick design on the house but didn't stamp it in dark enough ink so it is not very visible... I will remember that for the next house LOL

I then inked up an Inkadinkadoo leafy stamp with Pine Ancient Page ink and once I masked the window off, I then stamped this up the side of the house... the diamond masks were still in place so the leaves aren't covering the pattern up too much.

Finally, I lifted the masks and painted in the door, added a little Grungeboard escutcheon and popped another little Invoke Art image behind the door window.....and then named my house Little Bird Lodge as I decided as a finishing touch to add the teensy bird to the top of the door, which I stamped using Turquoise Ancient Page ink.

For the back of the house, I kept things pretty simple and just cut a piece of DCWV textured cardstock to the house size. I used a piece of that most delish CoreDinations cardstock for the roof and cunningly laid the card over a piece of sequin waste and then used an emery board to rub at the card.....which then revealed a paler core....how cool this new card is... and it left me with a really nice effect....just like if I had saved my time and rubbed over the sequin waste with ink LOL :O)) Ah, I said I had a lot of spare time...but not that much!!

I punched a hole in the card and stamped another Invoke Arts stamp which is the face peeping out from behind the hole....and then masked the image with another punched piece of paper and stamped a Tim Holtz Collection clock over the top. I added one of his swizzy new Ideaology Game Spinners to the middle of the clock-face :O))

A couple of tag stamps with birds on them made their way onto the design too....one of them, I stamped again and coloured the heart in red and then laid this over the original design. The other, well, this is hiding all the details about the swap and who made the house.....

I have forgotten what else I did cos I am sooooo tired after being up all night and day now so I will add the pics and then go off for a nice 40 winks!!

Thanks for looking and I would love your comments as I have only ever done one house before...and if you can remember what Grim said it looked like, you will probably realise why it took me so long to make another LOL
